Thank you TUI!!!
Trident University really made me feel like college was possible. It may have been just that I was in the right spot in my life, or that they just made college more accessible.....who knows, let's just say it's both. Prior to Trident I had gone to so many schools. I'm from Detroit and at the time I had been in the Navy about 4.5 years when I started. So I enrolled in a B.S. Health Science degree. Taking 8 week long classes etc, eventually I started taking 2 classes every 8 weeks. I made the dean's list a few times (huge ego boost) and finished my degree. Along the way I heard some negative stuff from people. They said trident is a degree mill and all type of crap. Well I took my bachelor's from trident and applied to a ton of masters programs. I was accepted into 5 of them, so pretty much I had my choice. I chose to complete an MBA through University of Texas at Tyler online. Trident had me so prepared for online education, discussion post , research and reading on my own that I flew through my MBA in a year. Also because my gpa with trident was above a 3.2 it was easy for me to get into masters programs. Some without needing a GRE like the MBA I completed. What's my point, I'm a proud Trident Alum. I was 28 with no degree married with a kid on a way 2013. By 2016 I was 31 with two kids a bachelor's, masters and enrolled in a PhD in Education (I want to give back education isn't my field tho). Trident set that foundation for me. They allowed me to feel that I could complete a degree when I had felt discouraged from other schools I attended in the past. P.S. Trident if you reading this, when I graduated you guys sent me a free T Shirt but it was way to small. I'm 6'2 245lbs.....if you have a 2xl on hand I'd love to have it! Hope this helps some one in the future! Respectfully Darius Summers class of 2015!
