I am sorry that we could not secure a larger amount of funds to you, but there are several factors which determine at this time how much can be invested in your case. First and foremost, your case was filed in court just a few weeks before you received funding. This means your case has not had sufficient time for it to be developed by your law firm. Additionally, since this is not a personal injury case where damages can be readily calculated (medical treatment), makes it riskier and thus our underwriters will be more conservative. But please note, the amount you were funded does not reflect the final award you will receive but rather the case value at this time. I can sympathize with being injured at no fault of your own and find yourself with financial stress. But please note that there is only so much that can be advanced. This is amount is based on the available recovery amount (defendants insurnace) along with the value of your case based on your medical treatment (damages). And since this was not your first funding (one with another funding company and one with us), we did not feel safe providing an additional loan. At the end of the day, when your case settles you should receive a sizable check. And although we do not recommend it, you can look to other funding sources. Regardless, good luck.
