Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever! We had a disneyland trip planned a month out. COVID19 hit and now they will not delay or reschedule the coverage. $170 dollars stolen in my opinion. Never use them...

Where is the zero or negative zero that’s what I would give them. Never believe in purchasing travel insurance and this on confirm my pessimism. Worst company ever and will never again have business with them.

This is the absolute worst travel insurance company, I had an awful experience with their poor customer service and irrational ways of operating. It started when I had to cancel a spring break trip to Spain due to the COVID-19 outbreak there that I had booked through American Airlines. I bought the travel insurance and did not even have to file a claim, I immediately received all money back when calling to cancel the trip without any issues. After having to cancel a trip to Spain due to the COVID-19, I decided to book a flight to Florida, since COVID-19 was not yet in the US. I booked this flight through Expedia and additionally purchased the travel insurance through Aon Trip Insurance, which I would soon realize was the worst decision of my life. I had to cancel the flight weeks later when COVID-19 spread to the US and specifically was prominent in Florida. I myself had a fever and the days leading up to the flight and did not want to put myself or others at risk by traveling. I thought I would have no trouble getting my money back, as any person with common sense would consider a global pandemic to be covered by insurance. However, after waiting weeks for the claim I filed online to get a response, I realized it would not be as easy as I had hoped. First, I was asked for medical records as if I went to the doctor to get my temperature taken. I did not have these documents so I had to call and wait on hold for an extended period of time and when someone finally picked up they said I needed proof of medical treatment for my fever and for Coronavirus. I informed her there was a global crisis occurring as COVID-19 was spreading, now in the US. She very rudely assured me that COVID-19 was "not in the policy." I hope that nobody else buys this insurance as it is a waste of money. These people are so cheap they could not refund me for a $250 flight, but I know their selfish attitudes about this global crisis will eventually lead to them losing considerably more than just my $250.

Our cruise was cancelled (Norwegian Cruise Line - Ship Jewel - Leave Hawaii April 3rd to French Polynesia Arrival April 17th) and we rebooked for next year. I called the customer service department and asked if they could transfer our insurance to our new cruise. They just said NO. Pretty much Don't Care. After that exchange, I realized I will only be booking insurance through legitimate sources, like Allianze travel insurance. They advertise that their insurance is transferable for rebooked trips due to the Corona Virus. I also called Norwegian and told them to remove the travel insurance for our trip for next year and that we will not be using AON company again. I have purchased their policy for every trip I have gone on through Norwegian. Just so disappointed what a terrible way to conduct business.

During these difficult times with COVID-19 a lot of businesses seem to be erring on the side being more compassionate to people who are trying to figure out what to do with severely disrupted lives as well as the vacations they had planned. Apparently, "concern or fear of travel associated with sickness" is not a valid reason for Aon being willing to refund the money I spent on a Walt Disney World vacation, despite the fact I bought their insurance well before the end of last year and certainly before people started hearing the term "covid-19." At a time when many businesses are all suffering the economic decline brought on by a disease that makes me fear for the well being of my 70+ year-old parents and my wife's 90+ year-old grandparents, Aon seems committed to making sure it stays as far away from the red ink as possible. I know travel insurance comes with many caveats (and usually for good reasons) but its sad to see something like this play out when people should trying to work with each other more than usual. Were it not for Disney's willingness to fully refund the money we paid (minus the cost of travel insurance, of course) I would be livid about the situation but, thanks to Disney's compassion, all I can say is that I'm disappointed with how Aon Travel Insurance is handling a situation that is already difficult enough for us all.

I am very disappointed with Aon Trip Insurance. We purchased a cruise and it was cancelled due to the virus. The first customer service representative we spoke to said we could use the insurance on a future cruise, which was fine with us. A few days later we received an email that there would be no future cruise credit. I called customer service and she said no reimbursement or future cruise credit was company policy. Under the current circumstances I believe this is a terrible way to run a business related to the cruise industry. I agree with other reviews that a class action suite would be in order. I also plan to contact Celebrity Cruise lines and let them know what a horrible company they are doing business with.

Bought trip inc.for 04/09/20 cruse, perched on 03/12/20 cruse was canceled due to virus. Called for a future credit, not a refund. Was told they do not refund or honor after a week from purchase. Don't find this to be reasonable as all I wanted was a credit for future cruse, not a refund. Agent was in no way even reasonable and said all he could do was follow company policy. I don't find this to be remotely reasonable, and very poor customer policy. All I can do is vote with my dollars and let others know how poor there policy's are. Unless this is resolved they will not see another dollar from me and I will let every one I see while traveling know about them.
