Townsquare .......There are no words that adequately…
There are no words that adequately describe the disappointment I have experienced using Townsquare
Media and Townsquare Interactive since April of this year. And they still not met the criteria to properly set up our website ......and that's been 6 months. They over promise and under deliver. And you forget a phone call being returned. I made a mistake moving from Big Commerce to Townsquare. And I sincerely advise, If you are considering them you should go online and read for yourself what is reported. I do wish I had done that first.

Do not trust a word they say!
I was told by the salesman that I would get twenty leads per month. I told him I would try the service for one month. I received zero leads, yet I paid a second month hoping something might happen. Again not one lead! I blocked them from charging my card again for a third month. When they tried to run the card I received a phone call because they weren't able to charge it. They told me that there is absolutely no guarantee with their company and they were going to send me to collections because I didn't contact them before they invoiced me for the third month. Told me that I'm obligated to pay them for the upcoming month even though they aren't producing. I was told that they were going to send me to collections if I didn't pay up. Doesn't matter that they did nothing to benefit me and will not do anything to benefit me. They are every bit as bad as the scammers that call you ten times a day from India to sell you a big lie. This is not a business, this is a dishonest hustle!

Broken tools, false confirmations, and promises that never materialize
If your domain, website, or email matters to your business, look very carefully at what you actually control before signing with this company.
I spent over a week trying to do one simple thing with Townsquare Interactive: forward two domains to a new website. What I found underneath their control panel should give any business pause.
Their Domain Forwarding tool accepted my request three times and returned a "Request Successfully Received" confirmation each time. Nothing ever happened. Only after escalating did I learn why: the forwarding tool does not actually update DNS. The button does nothing except show you a success message.
It gets worse. The "Advanced DNS Settings" editor in their panel displays a DNS zone that is not the live zone serving my domain, so changes made there are meaningless. The domain lock status in the panel does not match the actual registry, and attempting to change it produces an "Unspecified Error."
When staff finally applied the forwarding manually, their forwarding server turned out to have no SSL certificate. Every https link to my domain, including all Google search results, returns a connection error. That remains broken as I write this even after emails and phone calls to their "support." I was also told my domain transfer out would be approved "quickly." It is still sitting unapproved.
At no point in this process did a single thing work as described the first time, and not one promise made to me by support has been kept. Every fix I have, I got by routing around them.

A bunch of crooks
Their 5 star reviews are fake and salespersons guide you to leave a 5 star review before you are able to actually use their services and won't help you untill you do by sending you a link that makes it to where you can change said review after getting the crappy service. They then hit you with the gotta have the service for at least"3months" for any proper results which cost you 1000's of $. If you like waisting your money for nothing then have your information sold to other companies so then they can spam you for the same crap on a plate then go for it. You'll get overcharged, harassed, and post cancellation billing. I'd rather trust the ppl on Epstein's list before this company.

I hired Townsquare Interactive and regret it
I hired Townsquare Interactive for a managed website/marketing service under a 6-month agreement and paid $1,600 for the first 4 months. When I signed up, I thought I was leveling up my online presence. Instead, my visibility and lead flow dropped badly, and my business performed worse during my first few months with them than it did during my first few months in business.
My biggest issue was that the campaign was not properly built around my actual business. The website and marketing repeatedly focused on the wrong services, included services I do not offer, and did not accurately represent what my business actually does.
When I raised concerns, I felt constantly dismissed. I had to request meetings, send repeated emails, and provide examples/screenshots just to get basic issues acknowledged. Several reps admitted in calls that the campaign had not been handled properly and that my business had not been managed the way it should have been. Even after those conversations, the changes that were supposed to be made were still incomplete.
There were also clear quality-control problems, including wrong page titles/metadata, duplicate SEO information, poor site structure, and service-area changes that were added only as plain text instead of proper clickable/indexable pages.
For $400/month, I expected a managed marketing service. Instead, I felt like I had to audit, correct, chase, and eventually replace the work myself. The downtime and lack of meaningful lead flow during this campaign affected my business enough that I decided to learn basic SEO and website building myself. I ultimately rebuilt and launched my own replacement website because I no longer trusted the campaign to accurately represent my business online.
Despite admitting that the account was not handled well, Townsquare would not allow me to end the contract early without continuing to treat the remaining balance as owed. They also denied my refund request, continued dismissing the issue despite my written documentation, and left a disputed balance in place.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Townsquare Interactive. My honest advice to other small business owners is to learn basic SEO, learn the basics of building your own website, and keep control of your own online presence before paying for a managed marketing service.

Lost thousands in business
Townsquare interactive NEGATIVELY affected my SEO. They have costed me thousands in business.
Please if you read anything today, read this. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE. Every time you change your website dramatically, you will fall in ranking substantially for a long period of time. Especially when choosing TSI. They could not seem to figure out how to smoothly transfer the website change. My website was never fully indexed on google.
TDLR:
1) My website didn't fully index in the 3-4 months I used them.
2) Title tags were atrocious. Zero thought went into them. They targeted keywords that meant nothing.
3) I worked on my own SEO for hours trying to fix their mistakes.
4) They charge extra to run banner ads but say they don't have any way to see their performance.
5) The salesman lie. They got me good. I fell for it.
I wasn't even going to write a bad review after all this until they charged me for an additional month. I cancelled the day before getting charged and they said it was too late.
There is much more but it's hard to write about my experience without getting angry, so this will do.
