Good Outcome, Small Frictions
I shipped a car and a truck at the same time through Tower Moving Systems. Pros: Josh was always responsive, including accommodating changing the pickup window about a month ahead of time. Both vehicles were shipped (via M Transportation Inc) when I needed them sent and arrived without incident. Negatives: My full-size truck has a ladder rack on it. The initial driver that reached out to me, after contact by Josh, said he had not been informed of that, and it was important because it changes the profile of the vehicle and it cannot go in every slot on his trailer. (I was careful my paperwork with Josh/Tower Moving did reflect the ladder.) The driver’s other vehicles at the time were also big, so he didn’t have a spot for me after all. We saved a big wasted errand (auto carriers are not maneuverable so I had to meet him at the highway with two cars and only me to drive them, meaning back-and-forth Ubers) by figuring this out ahead of time, but my point is it was the driver that did the due diligence and spotted the problem ahead of time. When I told Josh the driver had declined to pick up, his first reaction was to try to schedule a different truck with the same company, even giving some soft pressure after I said the next truck’s date was after my lease was up and my plane out (“Friends can help?”). To his credit, he didn’t pressure much once he understood my schedule constraints better. I give 4/5 stars because both vehicles did ship on time and arrived undamaged, and I think Tower Moving/Josh did give a good price, and Josh was pleasant enough to work with, the experience just had the potential to go wrong over my ladder rack.
