Paid in good faith, ghosted in return.

A cautionary account for international entrepreneurs, and a straightforward record of how a well-rated company treats a paying customer once escalation is required. TopDawg's product catalogue and fulfilment offering are genuinely good, which is why I chose them to build a US-facing store, and which is precisely why what followed is so disappointing. In May 2026 I upgraded to the annual Scale plan to increase my product limit and access custom branded packing slips, ahead of launching a premium pet lifestyle store for the American market. I did thorough due diligence before committing. My developer confirmed a US-facing build would work. PayPal confirmed in writing that my account could receive US dollars from American customers. Only during the build phase, through an independent review by a certified Shopify Partner, did the real obstacle surface: Shopify Payments is unavailable to South Africa-registered businesses, and no compliant alternative exists that settles in US dollars at checkout. The store never launched. I have paid for close to seven months with nothing to show for it. By TopDawg's own figures, 92% of my annual plan remains unused. I asked, reasonably, for a pro-rata refund on the unused portion. Paul in customer support refused, twice. I then escalated directly to CEO Darren DeFeo, courteously and with full supporting documentation. That was over two weeks ago. No reply. No acknowledgement. Not so much as a holding email. I have since published a detailed account on LinkedIn, tagging both Darren DeFeo and President Jason Santini, and that too has gone unanswered. A company can have an excellent catalogue and still decide that a loyal customer of nearly seven months, who paid in good faith and asks only for fairness, is not worth a single reply. Good products do not excuse that. If you are weighing a US dropshipping model from outside the United States, interrogate the payment and residency requirements independently before you spend a penny, and ask whether the company will still answer you when something goes wrong. On my experience, I cannot tell you TopDawg will. I have been left no option but to post this review in the hope that a resolution can still be reached. Update – 20 July 2026 Thank you to Darren DeFeo for responding and for assigning Myckheal to review the account. I appreciate the personal attention this has now received and remain hopeful that we can reach a fair and amicable resolution. Caron Drake Luxe & Claw Updating my earlier review following a very positive resolution 20 July 2026 I had raised a concern about a pro-rata refund on my TopDawg membership after closing my store. Once the matter reached CEO Darren DeFeo, it was reviewed properly and promptly. The billing history was explained clearly and in detail, and TopDawg offered a fair refund of the unused portion — going so far as to backdate the calculation to the date I first made contact, so that their own review time did not count against me. That is how a well-run company handles a difficult conversation: no defensiveness, no boilerplate, just a careful look at the facts and a fair outcome. My thanks to Darren DeFeo for taking it seriously, and to Myckhéal Hosang, whose handling of it was courteous and thoroughly professional. Concerns raised, concerns resolved. I would have no hesitation recommending them. Most grateful- Thank you ! Caron Drake Luxe & Claw

25 Years in Online Business — TopDawg’s Customer Service Stands Out
I have owned online stores for 25 years, so over the years I have worked with more suppliers and companies than I could possibly count. TopDawg stands out as one of the best when it comes to customer service. One of the things I appreciate most is being able to call and actually speak with a real person. I usually reach the same gentleman, who is always friendly, patient, and genuinely interested in helping. Every time I have had a question or concern, he has taken care of it quickly—usually within just a few minutes. When you run an online business, having a supplier you can depend on makes a huge difference. Great products are important, but having knowledgeable people available when you need help is just as valuable. My experience with TopDawg has been excellent, and I would gladly recommend them to anyone running a dropshipping or e-commerce business. After 25 years in online retail, I know exceptional customer service when I find it, and TopDawg provides it.

Mary, thank you very much for sharing such a thoughtful review and for recommending TopDawg. Coming from someone with 25 years of experience operating online stores and working with suppliers, your comments about our customer service mean a great deal to our team. At TopDawg, our goal is to give e-commerce retailers more than access to a large network of U.S.-based dropshipping suppliers and products. We also want retailers to know that knowledgeable, personal support is available when they need it. We’re especially pleased to hear that you’ve been able to reach a real person, get your questions answered quickly, and receive the kind of friendly assistance that helps make running an online business a little easier. Thank you for trusting TopDawg as part of your dropshipping and e-commerce business. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to continuing to serve you and your online stores for many years to come. — The TopDawg Team

A Truly Great Experience with TopDawg
I have been working with TopDawg for the past seven months, and I can honestly say it has been a wonderful experience. Paul and his team have been amazing to work with and have provided exceptional customer service from the beginning. As a newer business owner, I have had many questions along the way and have reached out numerous times by both phone and email. Paul has always taken the time to listen, answer my questions, and help resolve any issues quickly. What impressed me most is that I never once felt like I was bothering him or asking too many questions. He has always been patient, kind, professional, and genuinely willing to help. Having someone on the other end who is responsive and truly cares makes such a difference when building a business. Paul's communication, dedication, and willingness to go the extra mile have made working with TopDawg a true pleasure. I sincerely appreciate Paul and the entire TopDawg team for all of their support over these past months. They have been reliable, helpful, and a fantastic partner to work with. I highly recommend TopDawg to anyone looking for a dropshipping company that values its customers and provides outstanding service. Thank you, Paul and the TopDawg team, for everything you do!
