Mr C.
A simple question became an attack on my character
I have never had a customer service interaction become this hostile this quickly. I had already spent $707.40 with ToolsToday and was preparing another order of roughly $700. I asked about a promotion. I understood that the answer could be no, and a professional no would have ended the matter. Instead, the representative attacked my character, questioned my honesty and good faith, and spoke to me as if I were trying to take advantage of the company. A routine policy question became an insulting lecture about my motives. When I objected, the response became even more condescending and ended with what came across as a sarcastic parting shot. That treatment was appalling. I was a paying customer asking a question, not someone inviting a customer service representative to pass judgment on my integrity. ToolsToday did issue an RMA, so I am not claiming the return was refused. I am returning the unopened, unused $707.40 order because of the hostile way I was treated. I also abandoned the roughly $700 purchase I was preparing and will take every future tooling dollar elsewhere. I kept the complete correspondence.

I personally reviewed the complete correspondence after seeing your review, and I agree that the way this interaction was handled did not meet the standard we expect from our customer service team. Your original question about the VCarve promotion was entirely reasonable. While there are rules surrounding how that promotion is applied, the discussion should have remained focused on those rules. Comments questioning whether you were acting in “good faith,” as well as some of the remarks that followed, were unnecessary and inappropriate. I also understand why receiving an RMA does not address your underlying complaint. Your issue is with how you were spoken to, and after reviewing the exchange, I understand that distinction. We appreciate that you had already placed a substantial order with us and were considering another. More importantly, regardless of the size of an order, every customer deserves to be treated respectfully. I apologize for the way this was handled. We are addressing it internally and will use this interaction to make sure we do better going forward.
