Do NOT put your card on file for them. We canceled our service in August 2022, now in January 2023 they charged me $149. We canceled the service. I have seen nothing but terrible things about them. The Dr didn’t show up to my daughter’s appointment and charged US $99. How does that even make sense? Please find local therapist and psychiatrist that can also do online, they are all over the place. Avoid this company at all costs.

I am soo glad I am not going to Tw anymore. My pharmacy sent them a refill request bc I was out of my medicine. They only give you 2 weeks of medicine bc they want you to come back every 2 weeks. Tw emailed me telling me I need to pay them $75 to get it called in bc I don’t have a follow up appointment scheduled. I only requested 15 pills so I don’t run out for 2 weeks . They don’t care about you they only care about your money. Sad!!!

Okay, so I see a lot of ppl saying it is a scam. It's not. It's just really sketchy the way their billing and company works. The therapist is awesome that I have, but thriveworks pressures you into signing up for a membership, that isn't mandatory. I have heard of people getting charged outrageous amounts out of nowhere. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CC ON FILE. use a privacy (dot) com card, a virtual card, you can connect to your bank, so YOU can control it, set a limit, etc. This way I KNOW They can never, ever charge more then 39 dollars at once (even if I cancel, the charge for cancelling won't go thru). Just be careful how you use this service, be sure your insurance covers it completely, and make sure you read the fine print on this place. They are a very scummy company, with some great therapists working for them. This may be the only way to get therapy for some ppl, as it's impossible to find local therapists. When you call, you will not be connected to a "speclist" you'll be connect to some sales rep across the world, that will not match you to the appropiate type of therapist you need. They are terrible. I'd give it 1 start, if it wasn't for the awesome therapist I have. THIS IS THERAPY, THEY ARE COUNSELLORS. They cannot prescribe meds. I see that in a review below. Alot of the issues I see in the other reviews I was told by my therapist, can be handled by telling her, rather then trying to go thru billing, which is staffed by 6 people (from what I was told). Finding the right therapist....is gonna be really big miss or a perfect fit.

I was scheduled for a 6pm Zoom counseling session. I tried logging on to the zoom using the link provided by email 30min in advance. No meeting ID was provided. I was unable to get into the session. I called the 628-266-4683 number to get in touch with the counselor S. Brown. The automated system presented about 20 other names before reaching hers. I selected her option and got a voicemail stating no one was available at this time. I tried several browsers and could not get in. I would like full refund of my membership fee. The customer service is not acceptable.

I was matched with an amazing therapist and have come along way. It's been one of the most affordable services I've seen. If not for poor billing, I'd give it 5 stars. At the beginning of 2022, there was a system change and that's where my billing got screwed up. My therapist kindly notified me that other clients were experiencing issues so I started calling for answers. What I found was that I was changed to insurance pay ($177.86) instead of self pay ($99) against my consent, called multiple times because I was not notified and found out after the fact, was told that the problem was fixed by different employees, was told that the previous charges would be corrected (again by different employees), finally called and asked for what was charged and paid on which dates, come to find that someone was moving money around (example: I had a session on October 12, 2021 and was charged $109.59, $89 was paid on August 24, 2021 and $20.59 was paid on September 15/2021) which is not sketchy at all (sarcasm), and was finally told that I needed to fill out a form to opt out of insurance pay. So for about six months nobody told me this form existed despite clearly asking if there was anything else I needed to do on my end in multiple correspondences, I was lied to that everything was resolved, and am paying them a total of $200.08 extra. Thriveworks is great if you want to dip your toes into therapy. Just be aware of what they're charging you and that their billing practices might not always be ethical or honest. Update: The issue is still not resolved. I've sent a few follow up emails, the latest being sent on June 30. The last time I've heard back is June 24. Always different people as if I'm being bounced from one person in billing to another. They have notes about my account and record all correspondence yet they it seems like no one reads them. Update: Still no response despite being promised by Danette B that she'd get back with me in June and that this was being worked on by Violet Whalen. Thriveworks has used my card on file to take more of my money despite this issue still not being resolved. After moving my money around, charging me more without properly informing me of my options, stringing me along through phone calls and emails from their support and billing emails, Thriveworks now has $200 more than what I thought I was agreeing to and it seems like they no longer care to respond to any of my emails. Thus one star. Update: After multiple people telling me there was no way to correct the overcharge, I suddenly received an email stating a check would be sent out. Talk about doing a 180! It took about two months to get a check, and this entire year to resolve this problem. During those two months just confirmed what an absolute mess Thriveworks is. No one reaches out with updates despite clear promises to do so, Heather and Elizabeth are the nonexistent supervisors as they never contacted me even though I’ve brought their lack of communication up to multiple people in billing, it’s like pulling teeth to get people to answer questions because they’d rather reply with empty apologies, and there’s not even contact information to escalate the issue. Thriveworks is designed to test your patience and wear you out to give up on any issues. Good riddance!

I was seeking a psychiatrist in an effort to resolve my chronic, lifelong depression. For a few days I had a glimmer of hope. I was set to meet (virtually) with a psychiatrist @ 9:00 PM. I joined the waiting room @ 8:51 PM and waited to be admitted. By 9:10 PM I was still waiting, so I closed the browser. The next day, I called Thriveworks support and informed them of what occurred. We set up another (virtual) appointment. Before the date arrived, I realized that Thriveworks charged my credit card $99 (mind you, my copay is $25, and Thriveworks said that my insurance would waive the first session's copay). I have absolutely no idea what this $99 was for. I called Thriveworks support and they said they'd email the billing department, and that I might hear back within 4 business days. My gut tells me that I need to mentally prepare to dispute this charge with my credit card provider; Thriveworks support did not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It's sad how this company preys financially on vulnerable people in their darkest hour. Look elsewhere.
