Painful design flaw
Painful design flaw, and ThirtyTwo won't stand behind it. ThirtyTwo customer service admitted the lace loops protrude and can cause pressure points. They also told me the next generation of the boot no longer has these loops. Even so, they refused to take the boots back or replace them. Their only offer was 40% off a new pair. They suggested I modify the boots myself, then said any modification would void the warranty. So I've spent about €1,000 on boots I can't use. The fix is to pay again for the redesigned version. On the plus side, the stiffness and overall build feel good, and if the hardware didn't hurt they would be great boots. But when the company acknowledges a design flaw and still won't stand behind the product, that's what I'd want to know before buying. Avoid the lace version, and think twice about relying on ThirtyTwo's warranty support.
