Unethical upselling, pressure tactics, and refusal to respect boundaries
I hired this company to build a small website based on a written brief and an agreed upfront price of $499. From the beginning, the experience was marked by poor communication and repeated attempts to upsell services I clearly declined. After the work was largely completed, I was informed that the scope had allegedly expanded and that I now needed to purchase a much more expensive package in order to receive the site. No revised pricing or written approval was ever presented before the work was done. Multiple representatives contacted me with shifting post-completion offers: first asking me to pay $4,990, then $2,499, then “pay half now and the rest later”... each framed as a “final” resolution. Even after I clearly declined additional services and requested to close the project, I continued to receive repeated emails and phone calls attempting to re-enter negotiations. I ultimately had to block the company to stop the contact. I did eventually receive a file handoff, but only after significant pressure. Overall, the experience felt coercive and far from professional. Pricing terms changed after the fact, boundaries were not respected, and communication appeared designed to wear me down rather than resolve the situation cleanly. I would strongly encourage others to look elsewhere. If you do choose to work with this company, make sure all pricing, scope, and delivery terms are explicitly documented in writing upfront, and be cautious of post-completion pressure to pay more than originally agreed.

Hi Lisa, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. For the sake of transparency and clarity for future clients, we would like to summarize the project timeline. You initially purchased our Package (regularly priced at $699) at a discounted rate of $499 including tax. This package includes a 5-page website. During the development process, additional page requests were submitted, bringing the total to approximately 20 pages. As this significantly exceeded the scope of the original 5-page package, your project manager informed you that an upgrade would be required to accommodate the expanded scope. This was communicated in writing before proceeding further. In an effort to support you, we offered a discounted rate on the upgraded package as well as flexible options. However, when you chose not to proceed with the upgrade, you requested delivery of the work included within the original package. We fully respected that decision and delivered the completed 5-page website along with the associated files. At no point was pricing changed retroactively. The additional cost discussed was solely related to the expanded number of pages beyond the agreed package scope. We regret if our follow-ups felt overwhelming our intention was to find a workable solution, not to create pressure. We are reviewing our internal communication processes to ensure even clearer scope documentation moving forward. We remain committed to professionalism, transparency, and delivering value to every client.
