Don’t order from the Shade Store
I have spent a considerable amount of money with the Shade Store over the years and trusted they would provide a quality shade for my master bedroom. Looks like I should have read recent reviews—clearly they are not the same store they used to be. I ordered a single shade for my master bedroom in May and the experience has been an absolute disaster. A flat Roman shade was over $1000 for a single window. I was told it would arrive in ten days. The shade arrived ar the end of June and was 14” too short for the width of the window. Emails and phone called regarding their measurement error were ignored. The only way I was able to speak with someone was when the installation person called to confirm the install appointment. He reorder the shade which arrived in August. Had to wait 3 weeks for installation. The shade is poorly made—a wrinkled mess that bunches rather than folds, with huge gaps on the edges of the window. When down, it is wrinkled and see-through with uneven gaps on the edges. Rather than being lined, there are loads of knotted strings visible from the outside. It looks like I ordered it from Temu. The cordless operation is a spring loaded loop that required me to reach under the white linen shade to find it. (They charged extra for this lousy feature.) Reaching out to customer service I was told the Shade Store does not offer refunds or price adjustments. Seriously? They measured the window and made the shade. It doesn’t fit the window and does not fold neatly or look anything like the Roman shades in their showroom or website. And it was $1000!!! While I was waiting for my shade to be remade (the first time), I received a $250 credit from a class action settlement. Wish I knew about the complaints or read recent Shade Store reviews rather than trusting my prior experience. So many other people with the same experience. It is clear they no longer prioritize customer service and it looks like I am going to have to contest the charge with my credit card company. So disappointing. Save yourself the trouble and order elsewhere.
