This rating would be five stars if Therapy Notes created an online method for clients to do the intake paperwork. I don't mean upload and save it, I mean a web-based method like many of the other HRA companies use that upload intake information directly into client's record.. It was almost a deal breaker, but since I used Therapy Notes at my last agency, I didn't have time to learn a new system when I started my private practice Other than this, I feel that Therapy Notes is a great company. The hold time is minimal, they always follow up with an email and written instructions and they are open on Saturdays!! Did I mention the customer service is great and the staff is very patient?

I really like the interface of TherapyNotes and the free trial was very helpful as I was building my practice and didn't want to have a lot of startup costs before getting clients in the door. I also tried Simple Practice for a month and liked TherapyNotes better in terms of their scheduling, billing and fees overall. My only reservation is the client portal and credit card processing. I wish that a client could log into the client portal and enter their own credit card information. Accepting credit cards through TherapyNotes has seemed to be cumbersome and confusing, so I have yet to do this, but likely will in the future.

I have been using TherapyNotes since 2016. It is an amazing tool and has greatly automated my practice. Things I love: -Insurance Billing is a SNAP! Two clicks and the claim is filed! I love the fact that the claim only gets filed when the note is complete. This can be a life saver if I am ever audited. -Customer Support is THE BEST! And it is live by phone if you choose. -Treatment planning templates are clear and concise. It takes me 3 minutes to do a simplified treatment plan when I use Practice Planners. -The automatic to-do list is fantastic. It is all in one place and keeps me organized. Things that are needed: - A dedicated scheduling app that has direct access to the scheduling calendar. Other EMR software packages have this. - The ability to create online forms that can be filled out directly from the patient portal. The signature application is good but I want to be able to use my therapy contract and intake. Right now I email, print, and scan. - An attached HIPPA compliant email system that opens when the client email is clicked. You could partner with someone for this and add the subscription price as an extra. -Online therapy portal that is HIPPA compliant. I use another application for this and it is working great but it would be nice to have it all in one place.

Just started using the program and our clinicians are enjoying it's easy to use design.

The note design and easy to use features are awesome for clinicians that have been avoiding EHR.

Early support has been very good to this point.;

I have been a practitioner in private practice and an administrator in various programs for about 45 years. I am now in solo private practice and wanted a software that would do it all - history, notes, treatment plans, billing. Although I haven’t quite figured billing out yet, I’m now ready to tackle it. If their support for billing is anything like there support for everything else, this is going to be a cakewalk. My only complaint is that there is no “auto-save” when creating documents. More than once I am in the middle of taking a history, and my patient takes a side path - by the time I look down, I’m being asked to log in again - and all my work on that page - I mean ALL my work - is gone. Fixing that would make this a 5+ stars for me

I’ve used TherapyNotes since 2012 when I made the switch from another EMR. Without fail, TherapyNotes has made monthly updates since then giving the user a very polished experience. On the few occassions I’ve needed technical support, they’ve usually responded within the business day. Any web-based service experiences occassional glitches and outages, and TherapyNotes has been no different. While I don’t fault them for this, their communication about what is happening could be improved. Additionally, they’ve yet to release patient portal functionality that allows new patients to complete paperwork online (and they’ve been talking about it for years). When they accomplish this, TherapyNotes will be THE small practice EMR/EHR to use.
