Enough of the Credit Card Offers; How do I maximize use of my points?

Well, I once emailed TPG with a question, and no one responded, which hurts. They said they would respond. Also, there seems to be a super strong emphasis on getting a lot of credit cards. And of course, to reap the benefits of miles credit, you have to spend thousands of $$. Is it wise to encourage all that spending? Isn't this encouraging massive debt? What I want to learn is how to maximize the points that I regularly accumulate; where does that teaching/coaching take place? Why isn't that more emphasized? So, I'm not impressed with The Points Guy — yet. Perhaps I need to deep-dive into their website menus for the instruction. In the meantime, I wish they would put more emphasis on using the points wisely, and less on gaining more points by acquiring more and more credit cards and spending money that some people don't have just to earn points. And TPG doesn't have the risk of non-payment--the consumer does, if they can.

We do our best to get out as many answers as we can, though you’re right that sometimes there are more than we can get to one-on-one in a generic inbox.
