Cheap, no DLL — but zero-tolerance enforcement leaves no room for error
What I liked: LEGEND is cost-effective compared to other prop firms, and having no daily loss limit (DLL) is a genuine advantage if that fits your trading style. Their platform and execution were otherwise unremarkable in a good way — nothing about the trading experience itself gave me trouble. What I didn't like: Their Apprentice account payout structure is on the low end — capped at $1,200 per target for the first 3 targets. The hedging incidents: I had two violations within one week, and they had different causes, so I'll separate them. The first was an unintentional ~11-second overlap between a Long and Short position across two of my accounts, caused by executing trades in the wrong order — not an intentional hedge. Their threshold is 10 seconds; I was 1 second over. I disclosed this to support proactively, with full timestamps, before they flagged it themselves. Their first response referenced a completely different account and date than my actual incident, and once I pointed that out, I got a generic "reviewed and closed" reply with no correction or further engagement. Both accounts were cancelled shortly after market close. The second incident, a week later, was on me — a configuration mismatch between two of my own automated trading strategies caused them to briefly take opposite positions. I'm not blaming LEGEND for the cause of that one. What I am flagging is that even a small, explainable, one-off error like this got the identical treatment: instant, automatic account cancellation, no warning, no chance to explain. My overall take: the hedging rule itself isn't unusual — many prop firms have similar restrictions. What stood out to me is the complete lack of proportionality or human review in how it's enforced: a 1-second technical breach and a minor config error were both treated the same as a deliberate, sustained hedge. Combined with a support process that didn't accurately engage with the specifics I provided, that's the part I'd want a prospective trader to know going in. The cost and lack of DLL are real reasons someone might still choose LEGEND. Just go in knowing there's essentially no margin for error, and no path to correct one if it happens.
