I received the two lamps I ordered. One from Kickstarter and one from Indiegogo. Beautiful thingS THEY ARE. I am fully aware of the issue that have plagued their business model and I’m sorry to see so many people that have been ripped off by the incompetence of the people delivering the lamps. I have been a 5 star customer throughout. BUT… to add to the nonsense that this company have created .. they no longer provide the app that runs all the cool RGB features that I paid for. I still have a cool lamp. But the fact remains that it is no longer the lamp I paid for. The makers replied to my concern tonsaybitvwould have the app back in service. That was over a year ago. What a bunch of cowboys.

Product plastic, I was expecting the head to be metal, and the bracket holding it on the body comes loose quite quickly if you are repositioning it regularly, 4 year wait, little response to e-mails, I refused to pay the additional postage costs and would e-mail around 4 times a year. Eventually they sent me a code to use on their website which worked perfectly, and received it shortly after which was a surprise as I had all but given up hope. Despite this, Overall I am happy with the product, the packaging was amazing, with little tractor postcard, hessian wrapped, spare lens, etc, it felt like a lot of effort had gone into the packaging to make it feel like a quality product, it sits on my desk and I use it daily, it makes me smile, so I have forgiven the frustrating journey it took to get here. Overall I am happy with the £70 I paid, but would not recommend paying full price from their website as I wouldn’t be confident the purchaser would receive the item. Plenty of reviewers still waiting after 5 years!!

This was originally a 3-star review. BUT, upon posting this I was notified by the lampster folks that my review wasn't good enough to get an extended warranty. Originally, they asked for "a review" in order to get this, but upon posting they said they would not offer me the warranty unless I changed my review. We're down to 2. ------------------------- The good: It's a great idea realized as a great looking, conversation starting lamp. This is the primary job of this thing I bought. The not-as-good: (1) The app doesn't work all that great, you sort of have to mess with it to get it to work at first (on my iphoneX). So, if you're looking forward to an app controlled lamp, there's better implementations than this one. (2) The lamp runs in a default of cold white. And to get it to the color you desire, you have to use the app. But, the lamp will reset itself to white sometimes when it comes on, especially if the lamp is being controlled on a switch too. Then ya gotta mess with the app in order to get your color back. Wish there were a "default" programmable color in the lamp chassis. (3) Don't get me started on the broken glass in the packaging! Very sharp broken glass. The ultimate goal of this lamp is to look cool and have character. To be interesting to look at. And to make light. It does all that very well. But, the app support (on iphone) could be SO MUCH BETTER.... It get's a solid 3. They'd get a 5 star rating for app improvements. For the folks on here who backed this on Kickstarter (which includes me), the 6 year wait was a bit much. I was not very happy with you as a company during that time. But I also think that you were caught completely off guard when you got $1.6 million in backing. Maybe you thought you'd make 100, but the demand caused by your popularity was too much for you. You should write us all a long mail documenting to the backers exactly what happened. That would be most appreciated. In summary: Great Looking Lamp!!! Sad App. Still annoyed by my Kickstarter experience with you, save your credibility show some transparency. --------------------- Final note: Stay away from these folks. It's a neat lamp, but a terribly run company. No transparency and nothing to make you believe they want you to be happy with your purchase. I am still waiting for someone at the company to address me for my review and the issues I bring up here.

I was an original Kickstarter backer and I just got my lamp. I liked the concept and when I ordered the lamp 5 years ago, I was excited about it. The process I had to go through to get the lamp was painful and it is sad that the people that got the company off the ground were treated so poorly. The two stars are for the fact that it arrived and it works. However, I lost interest in this product two plus years ago and I don't even know if I will use it now?

I am one of the people who already received their lampster. I received it i think around two years ago. I was one of the first bakers on kickstarter and I liked this idea from the beginning. I will not say something about the massive and frustrating delays and the really bad communication of the team. Other people did this more than enought. Now why only 2 stars? The second star is because i received it. But for the quality of the lamp i actually want to give one of five. Starting by the body, wich are two moulded shells, they fit very bad together. There are gaps all around and the filling material trickles out of them. There are scratches and dents and it is very obviously that the moulds are in a very bad quality. Normally you prime it with filler and sand it but this didn't happend. Also the quality of the paintwork is very low. There is no clear coat on it (on my one) and it feels very cheap. There are like fingerprints and imprints in it. I ordered a black one with two letters on the head. The letters were painted with a stencil and after that they tried to repair it with a brush and a white color wich is much more yellow then the one of the letters. Looks very cheap. But the more frustrating part is that the paint falls off when you run your hand over it. They said the letters will be secured by a clear coat. When i get in contact with them and send them pictures they only had excuses. The next disappointment is the app. It feels like an app from the beginning of the smartphone times. The user guidance and experience is catastrophic. I am a designer by my myself and we are creating models and product demonstrations by our self. I know how hard it is to keep the quality. But as a good product designer and builder it must be your drive and conviction to deliver quality. And for all the other who want to buy a lampster i can give you the advice, in reality they don't look like they do on the website.

The lamp itself is well made (except for the neck, see below) and looks great - however whenever it loses and then regains power it turns on at full strength. This is a terrible "feature" - especially when it happens over night or when I'm out of town. A lamp that I need to keep unplugged because it likes to turn itself on at full strength isn't a very useful lamp. The head sits too lose in the neck socket as well, it's not possible to point it any direction any any tension on the cord will cause it to move. This is also not great. So, if you want a lamp - look elsewhere. If you want a decorative piece to sit unplugged somewhere - this is overpriced, but a fantastic piece.

Edited Review. Confession: My original review was very positive, this was partly through the joy of finally receiving the lamp and also through encouragement by the company to give a 5 star review so that I might receive an extended warranty. upon reflection this was a bad thing for me to do. My lamp has also completely failed since writing the review, in fact I had hoped the mobile app would resolve my issues, it hasn't. The lamp will turn on, but the button on the top no longer responds. The mobile app will not connect to the lamp and when left on it simply stays on a low white setting then runs through a very annoying Cycle from dimmest to brightest and then back again without stopping after being on for a while. On top if it all I managed to snap the neck - my fult, but it didn't take much, I tried to move the head without loosening the neck bolt enough and it popped. In the end I'm very disappointed, i can't even just use the head as the light won't work with manual input and the bluetooth connection via the app is no good at all. Won't buy this or from this maker again sadly.

My last review about Lampster. Finally after so much stress and frustration I got my lamp today. Not the artsy one I ve ordered but decided to accept it and replaced the order by an Army one because I couldn't even bother to wait for more years to get it. It has been 4 years. The lamps looks great and app works ok too. The low review is basic for the poor customer service only and stress.I had. Time to move on but never a kickstarter or Indiegogo backer ever again. Good lucky those Who still are waiting for one.
