I baked Lampster in 2015 and yeah something went wrong in delivery but in the end i got my pledge a way lately, but the wait was worth it. A stylish Lamp on my Desk with some nice features.

Have had now two of my four backed (Kickstarter, backer#+3000) for almost a year now. Waited 3 years, which is a long time, and paid extra 25€ for shipping (to Finland). But with the 190€ investment, I would say the lamps are pretty decent. The lamps are really hand made and it shows, which I personally like. They have been working extremely well and I like the app. Only issue has been with the iTunes syncing with the Lampster, which occasionally fails. Not the main functionality that I need. Also with the rubber boots, I have not been bothered to fill them with sand or anything. They seem to stand pretty stably with their boots alone. So yes, these are cool lamps and they really exist. Good product, but long wait 👍🏻

It’s been a rough few years but after seeing momentum build I can see more Lampster being delivered including my own over two months ago. The reason I post a review now is that I had a question about my unit and Radu reached out directly via phone for 30 min to help me. I could hear the desire to help and also the frustration with the situation. Yes logistics and order management can be way better. But in my mind I did not place an order, I backed and art studio to create a commissioned work for me. So in the end, I’m very happy with my product so far. This is not a scam, it’s just a studio which bit off more than they could chew. There are lessons to be learned but in the end I feel like eventually all orders will be fulfilled. If you can’t wait then pay for individual shipping as clearly this side steps the bulk shipping and customs nightmares. Thanks Radu for keeping the promise to deliver in the end. Please keep up the momentum for the other backers.

Overall I'm happy with the product. The lamp is an eyecatcher and the build quality is very good. Only the app could be a bit more user-friendly and the delivery time was very long 😁

It is clear to me that the bad average score for the Lampster is mainly due to the late delivery and the vagueness in their public communications. There is something to be said for that, but my rating is 4/5 however, and this is solely related to the lamp itself. I personally believe that it is the product that should be rated here, and not the customer service or logistics, although I will comment on them as well. The Lampster is cool, has a great design and simply works very well. The amount of different colours is unreal, the touchbutton on top of the head is very responsive and controlling the lamp via the app generally works well. The lamp doesn't get hot at all, which also means the Lampster works as a nice stand for my headphones. :) I have had some issues with connectivity and some functions in the app, but nothing that could not be solved in the end, or that I think is very relevant for me. This is where I have deducted the one star though. What I am left with is a really nice item in my living room that is both functional and a conversation piece. Worth the price of 166 USD if you ask me. Regarding logistics: Yes, I did have to wait almost three years, like so many people. And No, if I had known that beforehand I would not have backed the project. But what is done is done, and in the end the product itself is worth 4 out of 5 stars to me. Lastly: Customer Service has been kind to me. I have contacted them via Facebook Messenger several times, and they have been responsive and helpful.

Received my Lampster (army green, the netherlands) today, i have to say that i payed the extra 25 euro’s for shipping. Couldn’t wait any longer 😆. But it was worth waiting, great lamp and the app works great.

English is my third language, so excuse me for my mistakes ... My Lampster is standing here, right next to me on my desk. It's a thing of beauty! (I have a black army one). THE ASSEMBLY The Lampster is bigger than I thought It would be. The body is very sturdy. The assembly proces is very easy, but be carefull not to forget the little plastic white ring that you have to put on the ball-head underneath the lamp-head. If you forget it, the lamp will not hold steady in the position you have put it. This instruction should have been included in the box. I just happened to watch the instruction video, but not everyone will do this. THE LOOKS It looks big, but very beautifull! They clearly put a lot of thought and detail into the design proces of the lamp. The paint job is amazing. The electric cable is finished with some woven fabric, which fits the lamp just right. The brass touch button on top of the lamp-head is nice. One minor and personal complaint: I don't use the leather accessories because the add a toy-ish feeling to a cool lamp. THE LIGHT The Lampster gives light :-) and a lot of it! You can set the light to very soft or very bright. You can select the colors through a color-wheel in the app. I use the white most of the time. You can set the whitebalance of the white to get a more yellow-ish white. I have placed the Lampster to the side of my desk, because I don't like it when the LED's are shining directly in my eyes. THE APP I'm using the ios-app and it works smooth. It had no problems finding the Lampster and controlling it. You can choose color (which gives you acces to the color-wheel) or white (which shows a blue and yellow slider to adjust the 'temperature' of the white light). Nice thing is that you can lock the ratio of the two white sliders. A few meters show the current power consmption and the current temperature. If the lamp would ever get hotter than 60 degrees Celsius, the Lampster will shut down to let it cool. There are some functions I have not used (yet): setting a wake up time, setting a turn off time, sync it to the music. DELIVERY This is why the Lampster only gets 4 stars instead of 5. The kickstarter delivery is still in progress (way after the promised date) and there is very little communication. I have backed a lot of kickstarter projects and a lot of them have delivered late, but most of them have had good communication. I love my new lamp, I just wish it would have gotten here sooner!

Ordered my 1st Lampster in December 28, 2016 on indiegogo and got it delivered last year. Did some testing with it and really liked it. I gave it to my 10 year old niece for her birthday , she is using it not only as an office desk lamp but also to have funky lights when she plays music. I'm waiting for my second Lampster so I can give it a test run with the new app version, but will use it mainly as a fancy office desk lamp. I did order a version without paint as I have an artist friend who will be doing a custom painting job for me. I will update the review with the new app test results after I received my second one. (and pictures of the custom paint job when done.)
