I ordered my lamp in Dec 2016. I'm looking forward to receiving it soon (just notified that it will be here by Christmas) and hopeful after very responsive costomer service.

Lampster was a Kickstarter crowdfunding project and lead times were to be expected. However, they did have serious trouble delivering, and I had to wait for four years to receive a lampster in a different colour than ordered. One the earliers issues was that they probably miscalculated the cost of so many options and shipping destinations, eventually prioritizing on shipping to customers willing to pay extra for custom shipments (instead of bulk) and on some shops that would carry their product. Which left backers of the first hour to wait, with little to no progress communication, even breaking promises on communication and delivery deadlines. Of course people weren't happy with it and I was one of them. Fast forward to today and things have improved. Updates are stil less frequent but I received my Lampster and did have good contact with support via Facebook messenger, where they were reasonably quick and adequate in their communication. As I said, the Lampster delivered was in the wrong colour, disappointingly. After contact with Lampster I decided not to take the gamble of the swap and kept the one I finally had, with a kind reimbursement for the inconvenience. As it still is an army look, black instead of red, it fits in nicely. Overall communication and service has indeed improved over the years, I'll give them that gladly. If the lamp had been in the right colour, this review would have been 4 stars. Note: this review has been rewritten two times. First when communication was poor (2 stars), then communication improved (3 stars), finally after delivery and again contact.

After my previous review complaining that the whole thing was a con I provided my order number which was presumably passed to lampster because a month later and after 3 years both lampsters have arrived They are funky and bigger than I thought- a bit top heavy but they work fine Really an OK product it’s just a shame they have screwed up so badly with so many people that the product itself will always be tainted But here you go - they did arrive and they work

UPDATE: It was shipped the week after writing this review, I do not think this was a coincedence. The lampster itself is great, it's good quality and the light has more features that I was expecting. Just let down by the years of bad communication and poor organisation. -------- Backed many Kickstarter projects and none have been as badly communicated or organised as this one. Backed in 2015, with a delivery of 2016 - this was extended due to the volume of orders but it has gone on another 2.5 years on-top of that timescale. I got the 'Order Ready' email in Aug 2018, Lampster say the UK batch is being delivered in Nov 2018. No sign of the item in 2019. Contacted Lampster via Facebook Messenger (the company prefer this method) a few times and only get auto-replies or vague replies about estimates and schedules (that they don't plublish anywhere). Finally get a proper reply from them in March 2019 and am told "You will have it by the end of summer" so possibly another 6 months. Considering that I had a shipping email in Aug 2018 I'm sceptical of this.

The Lampster has up until now been quite an ordeal. It has taken until now to finally get my hands on this great idea for a lamp. I backed this project back in 2015 and finally all four have arrived. The project ran into problems early with high numbers ordered and not enough original lamp heads, custom electronics although I don't think there were any issues with that, then issues with body mold. Then finally getting it delivered. I believe the management/handling/logistics was the biggest let down. The product, although possibly rushed is of good quality for something handmade. Eventually they were on the production line. Thats when the waiting got tough. I don't want to go over all the details, just want to put it all behind me now but have to say that the worst part was the lack of communication. I can accept and understand technical issues but there really is no excuse with a venture like this to not have reasonable communication. It doesn't really cost much than time but i can't stress enough it would have gone a long way. In any case my lamps are here and arrived promptly after I had to leave a truthful yet scathing review here. This is now amended to this. Radu, you need to stay in contact with your backers still. The lamps arrived in excellent condition. Unfortunately wrapped in clear film, so when one of my children answered the door the surprise I was waiting for for three years was up in smoke, oh well. They arrived in relative quick succession from each other promptly form Romania and even got the customised one I ordered for the eldest child who has moved out already during the production phase, despite me compromising on that and requesting a stock unit. A nice surprise to see the custom one instead. I did have to compromise on European plugs for Australian but that's no big deal as Im an Electrician.It was good to finally hand them onto the the kids who were still pleasantly surprised with them. As far as the lamps go, overall they are of good quality, a little more attention to detail for between the legs and on the feet where the joins are could have made the lamp 100%. The lamp operation itself works fine with the touch button. Sometimes the app does odd things but can live with that. The LED's when lit are clearly visible through the lens and the diffuser but I kind of like that effect. The neck seems OK. I wouldn't put too much stress on it but then its a lamp not a toy. We have already had a few comments about them. When I tell the story about the wait, they don't know what to say. But overall very happy I received them and something unique to look at. They do have character, i think anyway. Especially with that sideways look either up into the sky or down to the floor. Wonder what he is thinking.... I look forward to keeping an eye on The Lampster, to see what the next, if anything, iteration may be.......... Good luck to those still waiting. Stay Strong.

I don't want to get peoples hopes up - but I received my Lampster three years after paying them! Long story short - I posted here and there about their lack of fulfilment and conversed via email about 12 times over this period. In December, they asked me to pay $45 USD to expedite postage - I refused. Then, I got a notification from UPS a few weeks saying that a package was coming from Romania. What!? Really!? Could it be.... Arrived 23/1/19 - 3 years and two weeks after I ordered it. Want to see a video? Find me on YouTube by searching for my name.

Cool product, but serious issues with the logistic part. After waiting for 3 years I received my Lampster. It’s a really cool looking lamp, but I’m afraid it wasn’t worth the price tag. The app doesn’t recognize the Lampster most of the time with iOS 12. If the guys would acknowledge their issues and made the app useful or maybe even open source, this lamp would fit neatly in my smart home, which I control from one place. I now have to turn on/off the lamp manually, the first world horror!

This is very frustrating having ordered in March/April 2016. They used to reply to emails but no longer do they do. I am based in Asia, they offered fast shipping in a general update, I responded with the an email to try and proceed and never heard back. no progress very very frustrating. I wonder when this will ever arrive? will they actually asked me for my address before they ship since im moving soon? I'm happy to pay for additional shipping fees just to get it sooner, but I cannot even make contact with them anymore after several unanswered emails. UPDATE: received a response from the team and hoping to get this resolved, will continue to update this review as things get resolved UPDATE: I got one email response and then the responses stopped again. Hoping to get fast delivery. The lack of response is very frustrating Update: still hoping to be able to move forward with fast delivery, waiting for them to respond and send me the invoice for the additional cost to get fast delivery Update: finally it had arrived, the product is excellent and I love it, shame about the lack of communication and response speed. If they could arrange for greeter customer service and transparency the whole experience would have been a lot better. Changed the 3 stars
