Dedicated site for a job seeker. I found it very useful because of the commitment. Although I did not find anything so far, I am encouraged by the hope that TheLadders provides. Therefore, I strongly recommend any one to look at it.

Although I am not a paying member, I appreciate applying to those positions where there are no charge. I do resent however receiving e-mails to apply for certain jobs for free only to find out that they are no longer available after you click on the link. There has to be a better way.

I have had the pleasure and honor of having a nationally-acclaimed career in pharma sales, and after owning my own business for more than two years, have become a member of The Ladders to secure that next career move. The experience has been challenging: I seldom read of any success stories on The Ladders of those with similar successful career tracks landing that next magical position. I see a lot of recruiter activity on my page, but no actual outreach from recruiters for positions for which I have expressed an interest. I am beginning to question the authenticity of these recruiters, which is something I find disappointing. Yes, landing that next career move can be a numbers game, but surely there should be some activity for someone with my background and passion for sales. Time will tell....

The site can have many job listings on it. However, after a closer look, you'll find that many are actually duplicates listed by different recruiting companies. For example, if you conduct a specific search, you may get 10 hits. In reality, those 10 hits can be 6 or fewer different jobs. Also, I frequently find jobs get re-listed for several weeks. For example, you can see a job today. Then, in a few weeks, it shows up again as if it were a new listing. It can be sometimes confusing because the new listing won't show you that you've already applied for the job, under its prior listing. I've found decreasing value in using this site and I'm considering cancelling my subscription.

The Ladders used to be a much more exclusive site, which on some levels was better for those in that $100K+ bracket, but not so much for those looking to get there. Now that the job selection isn't limited in this regard it is much more useful, but it still lacks the amount of job opportunities as other sites. Furthermore, the mobile app is buggy. For example, there's a section that's supposed to let you know about the status of an application but for which never stays properly updated and which apparently sends erroneous updates. It once told me that an employer viewed my application on one day and then again a few days later I received the same notification. When I went to look at the history, it only showed the most recent view. There needs to be more jobs, more diversity in jobs and more options for promoting oneself.
