I have had numerous opportunities provided via the Ladders tools. Although none have led to a job offer (yet), I have had recruiters submit me for many, have had phone interviews and have been pleased with what has occurred so far.

I like the mostly simple (one page/almost instant) application process. Sending a resume is far more efficient than a multi-page application asking for the same information that's on a resume in the first place! But that's an applicant's perspective; employers might have a different take and I'd like to think they have good reasons (do they?) for complicating the process :). There are some leads that direct you to a different website, but I've found for the most part that the application process is very simple & straightforward. I love that. Coupled with the fact that one has access to recruiter information, the ability to see profile views, track positions applied to & interested in makes The Ladders the best site I've used so far. The quality of the leads and level of professionalism is also commendable. Being able to compare myself to other applicants interested in the same positions I am is another feature I love. I was a "free" user of the Ladders for a while and noticed that I really had little access to job posting information. After other website subscriptions I had expired, I splurged for the Premium membership ($49 for 3 months). I now have access to more job descriptions and have directly applied for at least 2 positions from here and have connected personally with a recruiter. If the activity yields a job offer, the $49 will be worth it.

I like the site and I like the features and benefits. However, my suggestion is that you charge the job listing entities a slightly higher fee and make the site free for candidates. You will definitely get more traffic and more of the "non" actives to participate. This gives your business clients a more complete field of candidates and probably more qualified candidates.

Average time to find the right fit for you and your new employer is roughly 34 weeks, some areas of the US are quicker. But in general the more 'experienced' you are that time period is realistic. Posting resumes on the job boards gives you an unrealistic and at times irrelevant interest. The Ladders is a more informed and professional way to cut those 34 weks with true interest in your experience.

I have been looking for some time and the ladders is the mainstay of my search. I have looked at a number of other sites and the ladders seems to be what I always go back to.
