Different from traditional firms. Customizing the plan and price is a great feature. The X Platform they offer is by far the best trading platform in the industry.

Thank you so much for your review! We're happy to have you on The Desk.
As a trader, I must highlight major ambiguities in The Futures Desk’s news trading policy that impact trading decisions. Their rule states:
"One minute before/after news events, you are restricted to 5 micros with reasonable stops."
However, this policy lacks essential details, creating unnecessary uncertainty:
Which News Events Are Restricted?
The firm does not clarify whether restrictions apply to all events or just high-impact ones (CPI, NFP, FOMC). Their economic calendar is available, yet fails to specify which events trigger restrictions.
Relevance to Traded Instruments
If I trade NQ (NASDAQ futures), does an oil inventory report still limit me to 5 micros? The policy makes no distinction between relevant and unrelated news events, forcing traders to adjust positions unnecessarily.
Pre-Existing Positions !!
The rules don’t state whether the 5-micro restriction applies only to new entries or also to positions already open before the news window. This is a critical gap in clarity.
Recommendation: Publish a Clear "News Trading Handbook"
To improve transparency and fairness, The Futures Desk should release a handbook covering:
✅ A precise list of restricted news events by impact level
✅ Clarification on which news affects specific asset classes (e.g., NQ = Fed speeches, tech earnings)
✅ Examples of acceptable vs. restricted trades
Bottom Line: If this firm truly values "long-term relationships" with traders, it must provide clear, actionable rules instead of leaving traders to interpret vague policies. Until then, this uncertainty makes risk management unnecessarily difficult.

Hey, thank you so much for your feedback!
We places traders in LIVE brokerage accounts, meaning we must adhere to the brokerage’s rules, including any temporary changes they make to margin requirements during high-risk news events. These adjustments are made at the brokerage’s discretion, and we have no control over them.
While we do our best to provide guidance, margin restrictions during news events are ultimately determined by the brokerage itself. This means that in some cases, restrictions may apply to all high-impact news events, and in others, they may depend on the actual instrument or the specific brokerage’s risk assessment at the time.
That said, we appreciate your suggestions regarding greater transparency. We are always working to improve our trader experience and will take your recommendations into account as we refine our policies and communications.
If you have any specific questions about upcoming news restrictions, feel free to reach out to our support team, and we’ll assist you as best as we can.

This prop firm is built differently!
Amazing experience so far!
I've traded pretty much all of the major futures prop firms but none compare to TFD. This firm truly cares about its traders' growth. I had a free 1 hour coaching call that helped me see what I was missing in my trading. Coach Brian literally told me NOT to buy an assessment account with TFD! He suggested I use their practice accounts to collect statistical data and refine my trading before spending tons of money. The practice accounts are just $19/month and come with market data and TFD's journaling software.
Their journaling software is NEXT LEVEL. I've never seen anything like it. They have you check in before trading with your emotional/mental state, market analysis and daily goals. Each trade is documented and you can tag it with your trade model and customizable tags (FOMO, entered after two losses, hasty entry, etc). I take screengrabs of TradingView, so I uploaded those images to TFD and added my notes and tags. You also check out at the end of the day and grade your performance. All of this forces you to take accountability for your behavior and gives you the tools to become a successful trader.
Most prop firms have their set rules (intraday or EOD trailing drawdown, consistency %, scaling, etc) and varying account sizes. TFD lets you FULLY CUSTOMIZE your assessment plan and the pricing is a sliding scale based on your choices. The resets are affordable ($75) and they don't let you trade the same day as a reset. They really do want you to succeed and not make the same mistakes that could be profitable for the prop firm but harmful for the trader.
I'll update once I get to payout but I really can't recommend them enough so far!
