Tried this twice, almost 1 year apart. Both times had issues where it wouldn't work on two separate websites running different themes. Both times experienced VERY poor support from "support" people such as Truman Dorn and Marta Kozak, with an attitude of, "Well, you should probably research and figure out what the problem is." So wait, why are YOU here?

Broken new version created more problems than benefit
Have been using this plugin on client sites for years, and it has been adequate but not without problems and unneeded complexity. The new versions had major compatibility issues with another plugin that I use on all of my clients' sites, and also introduced new 'v2' layouts that broke all of my theme customizations and is not backward compatible. The amount of time I have had to spend trying to work around and fix things is way more than it is worth, I will not use this plugin in the future on any sites and do not recommend that anyone else do so either.

None of the most key features actually function
The Events Calendar has great features: Community submitted events, direct imports from Eventbrite, pulling events directly from other calendars with an ICS file, all reasons why we chose to use this calendar. The problem is that none of these features work– not one. Occasionally, each of them do work but you never know when, or why, or why they stop working. I have been working with their tech support for over a month, with no resolution. The time this has wasted, and frustration it has caused is unquantifiable. I would not recommend this product to anyone unless you have no need for any of these features to work and just want to use it to put up a couple of events a month manually.

Absolutely THE WORST PLUGIN EVER
Absolutely THE WORST PLUGIN EVER
Avoid this thing LIKE THE PLAGUE
Cost us serious $$$ and cost me SEVERAL DAYS of my life including twice where I got ZERO SLEEP
Due to NIGHTMARE APP- time zone flaws- sell-out falsities, search function complete failure, tickets unavailable, events not searchable or showing up right- events showing in totally wrong time zones and also disappearing 12 hours early due to their HORRIBLE HORRIBLE APP RUN AWAY!! And support is CRAP and nonexistent. NEVER EVER AGAIN

When things go wrong they run the other…
When things go wrong they run the other way - I bought Promoter service and it is a broken service that does not sync - cannot get a reply from so far no refund no comment nothing - feels like a flaky outfit - may upgrade this review if they get me sorted

Poor customer service
Whilst this software is undoubtably good the customer service has been particularly poor. I am a long term customer using their products to build sites. Recently I upgraded my license to 10 sites by mistake. They refused to reverse the transaction and simply ignore my request. Despite trying to contact them on several occasions they just didn’t respond.

Do not use!
The site stopped working out of nowhere. We asked for support, the desk didn't help at all, now NINE days later into our support request and we still haven't fixed the website. We are now working with Livestorm and it works great!

Great plugins, woeful security.
Great plugins, woeful security. The email address on my account was changed to another email address without my knowledge and the response (upon me reporting it) was to change it back and advise I reset my password rather than investigate. I did so and it happened again - to the same email address!
PS my passwords (before and after changing them) were unhackable in this millennium (very long) and not used anywhere else.

We are sorry that you had this experience Mr. Hobbs, and we’re thankful for your honesty and candor.
For the benefit of others reading this reply, it's worth contextualizing that we changed your account information because a previous customer of yours, who had inherited your code, wanted access to the account so that they could upgrade the code. As such, this was not a case of arbitrarily handing your account to a stranger.
That being said, you are right to challenge this policy.
As a result, we have made changes to our privacy policy, our knowledge base and have rolled out a training protocol for our support team. Moving forward, we will never share personal or account-based information with anyone (even if we believe it to be for the customer or related to an extenuating circumstance).
