The pjugin works then it doesn't. I tried to upload another plugin from them and I get an error stating the link has expired and they say it's issue on my end. They do not respond quickly

Functionality does not work, even on paid version, support is limited and very slow. They try to pass blame to other plug-ins and theme conflicts even though we have tested that they are not.

A rewrite to version 6 required a database upgrade. The upgrade causes the plugin to fail and display error messages on the site. Of course this is partly because we use a multisite implementation of Wordpress. A more mature product would have a smoother upgrade path - or at the very least the ability to export, reinstall and import data. Another issue is the plugin requires too much CSS customization. Lack of support makes it difficult to back out of these issues. Maybe time to look for alternatives. (Have been using TEC for a decade on various sites.)

Avoid The Events Calendar at all costs. It caused SEO issues stating duplicate pages for every event created. Then after over a year of using it with the Mega Max Menu plugin it suddenly became incompatible and was breaking the site 2-3 times a day for months. We spent nearly a grand on a website developer to identify and fix the issue. The issue was solely the Events Calendar Pro plugin which we deactivated and created an entirely new Events page. I reached out for a refund which The Events Calendar team declined immediately. Read their reviews, they are terrible to work with.

AVOID. This plugin is the worst. The promised functionality is nonexistent. The various view modes do not work. I purchased the "Community Events" version for my client base and the calendar interface when scheduling events is misaligned (presents poorly). Tried logging into my account and suddenly my password does not work. Requested a link to reset it repeatedly; the email never arrived. They are timely when announcing "exciting" updates, but radio silent regarding customer care.

They kept charging my account even though I REPEATEDLY asked them to cancel my subscription. It doesn't seem like anyone is there. Their portal doesn't allow you to cancel your subscription. They just kept trying to charge my card over and over and over again. No support provided.

I could write a dozen paragraphs explaining issue after issue after issue that I had with this plugin, from basic functionality not working, to breaking other plugins, to horrific support, to trying to charge my card even after cancelling. I'm always hesitant to write negative reviews, because I assume that I'm an "edge case" in some way. But this is SO FAR BEYOND the worst experience I've ever had with any other software that I've ever used, I felt I had to try to warn at least ONE person and save them the pain (dozens of hours and thousands of dollars lost) that I've experienced because of this "tool".

This plugin went from being great to damaging our crawl budget with the new update and the way the software feeds events to every page. That being said, I tried several times to get the help we needed as we were pro users as in, we paid them to license their software, but all I got was we are so sorry and some horrible work arounds like using robots.txt directives which won't work when you feed an event to every page: Here is our support request: All of a sudden the events which we do not index, are being indexed by Google even with a no index tag on it. This only happened after we upgraded. Because of this, we are spending our crawl time on things that are irrelevant like our calendar items. This means the pages and posts that make us money are not being crawled because there are literally hundreds of posts that are not being crawled. We need a fix ASAP. See for yourself in the screenshots I have attached. In the end, we had to remove their plugin altogether and finally we started to receive leads again here was their response to us: I hope you are doing well. I am sorry that you had to remove our plugins and are seeking other alternatives.
