Beware. Without my knowledge the Cleaning Authority charged my account for an extra hour of service. Their team arrived more than 1/2 hour late and left after an hour and remained sitting in their car as I observed. Neither person on the team could speak English and worked slowly. A cleaning at another location resulted in their cleaning product ruining the door of my range. Several attempts to correspond with the franchise and corporate were ignored.

The Cleaning Authority-Louisville, KY-No Go!
When I decided to hire a cleaning company, I initially chose The Cleaning Authority because their manager came to my home, explained their process in detail, and made the service sound reliable and structured. They use an A/B cleaning rotation—meaning the first visit is “A” and the next is “B”—where each focuses on deeper attention to certain areas while still cleaning the entire home. The manager presented an impressive overview of how thorough the cleanings would be. Unfortunately, that is not what consistently happened.
After only a few visits, it became clear that the quality and professionalism were inconsistent. Some staff mentioned that areas—such as blinds or windows—had not been cleaned properly during prior rotations, and they would tell me they were “getting me caught back up.” This raised concerns, as the services that were promised were not being delivered.
The professionalism issues didn’t stop there. Some cleaners made inappropriate comments about my family and our belongings, including remarks about us “spoiling” our son. That is not part of their job description, nor is it appropriate in a client’s home. When I brought this behavior to the manager’s attention, he was dismissive and never responded to my email concerns except to note that they would be crediting my account due to a broken item in my home. Additionally, if you request that certain staff not return to your home, he is unable to manage that properly because he relies solely on an app to determine which employees service which houses.
On top of that, one cleaner broke an item in my home. While it was replaced, the manager’s response was unprofessional—he informed me they preferred to use Target for replacements rather than “some high-end New York store,” which was unnecessary and frankly quite funny. If your employee damages a client’s property, it is not your place to dictate where the client should or should not shop. Comments like that, paired with a lack of accountability and the arrogance and cockiness displayed on the phone, likely explain the high employee turnover.
I am grateful that we have since found a new cleaning company that is professional, respectful, and actually provides the level of service they promise. With stronger employee training at all levels and a manager who understands communication, accountability, and customer service, The Cleaning Authority could prevent losing business in the future.

Over double, almost triple estimate
Cleaning Authority had us complete a detailed intake form covering our house’s square footage and cleaning priorities. They later estimated that two cleaners would need approximately two hours to clean the entire house. Because they charge by the hour, this estimate was an important factor in choosing them.
Before booking, they required an additional form asking what the cleaners should do if they ran out of time. We did not want any part of the house left uncleaned, so we authorized them to continue beyond the estimate if necessary, assuming it might take up to three hours and still be reasonably priced.
On the day of service, we let the team in but were unable to remain in the house. When the bill arrived, we were shocked because they claimed the two cleaners needed six hours. We had expected a total of $300, yet the bill was over $800. No explanation was provided for the significant discrepancy, and the house didn't begin with any unusual messes. Given the huge gap from their own estimate and the fact that no one was present to supervise, it raises serious concerns about how the time was actually spent.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE
AWFUL EXPERIENCE - DON'T USE THEM
The cleaners came over and started cleaning our entire upstairs with their shoes on, no shoe covers, nothing. We specifically asked for shoe covers in our initial consultation. They had walked around on all of the carpeted areas, including my brand new rug in my bedroom. This was highly upsetting for me. When I spotted this, I asked them if they had shoe covers and they said no. I then asked them nicely to take them off. I called the company to ask why they didn't provide shoe covers and they asked the cleaning crew to leave. They abandoned the job, left everything a mess and even left their trash behind. I requested to to speak to a manager but she continued making herself unavailable, then I asked for a call back from the owner. He called me two days later, talked to me in a VERY rude and condescending tone, trying to blame me for everything and then had the guts to tell me "I am sorry if your feelings got hurt". He also tried to shift the blame on to my husband by telling me that he saw them with their shoes on and should have said something. On top of that I was told that I asked for my ENTIRE home to be shampooed, top to bottom, which was a complete LIE. What a joke this guy is but also the company is beyond unprofessional and it is obvious that they don't care about their customers. They do not take accountability for what their staff did. Do yourself a favor and stay away. What an awful experience. I would never recommend them to anyone. They should be ashamed of themselves. There are MANY cleaning companies out there. . . and if you treat customers the way you do, you'll soon be out of business. No one needs you. You need us.

STOLEN ENGAGEMENT RING
STOLEN ENGAGEMENT RING - Company Took ZERO Responsibility and Put Our Safety at Risk
We hired this cleaning company believing we were protected -- they claimed to be licensed, insured, and bonded. That turned out to be false and led to a nightmare experience.
An employee stole my engagement ring, later admitted to it, and pawned it. Tragically, the pawn shop melted down the ring, so there is no chance of ever getting it back. After the admission, she was fired -- but shockingly, the company then gave her OUR home address. She showed up at our house trying to confront us, which was terrifying and completely unacceptable.
Even more troubling, the company also gave us her personal contact information without our asking, raising serious privacy concerns.
The owner has refused to take any responsibility, insisting it was solely the fault of the individual -- but we hired the company, not the employee. That's not how liability works.
To make things worse, our lawyer discovered that after the new owner took over, the company's business license was no longer active -- meaning they should not have even been operating at the time.
We've consulted legal counsel, and are continuing to pursue justice. This company failed at every level: accountability, safety, legality, and basic ethics.
Do not trust this business. If you value your safety and your belongings, stay far away.

I have 3 dogs and count on a cleaner to…
I have 3 dogs and count on a cleaner to vacuum. They did not vacuum and then came up with lame excuses like maybe the vacuum was not working and the person did not notice. What about when they mopped? Did they not notice they were pushing around dirt. Their policy is no refunds. They come back out to do a re-do. Who wants to put up with home invasion by idiots.
