I order a kit based on Trustpilot ratings. I then purchased scale, weighed & catalogued jewelry with help of a friend. I had 13 individual packets of 14K & 18K gold (rings, medallion, earrings, chains), pure silver medallions, watch & other items. I then stapled a sticky to each packet with items enclosed and then placed in the pouch provided by Alloy. I stapled a sheet of paper to the pouch describing items in each pouch & gram of weight of each pouch. The only item placed loosely in the FedEx envelope they provided was a gold mesh cigarette case. Simply, place your jewelry in the pouch provide and we will pay you cash for your gold. No worries, all shipments are fully insured up to 100K . When the FedEx envelope was scanned at the time of pick up it weighed 2 lbs. Several days later they informed me they could not accept the cigarette case & would return it. I was in shock. They claimed there was no pouch of jewelry in the FedEx envelope. They provided me with video showing them "unpacking" the envelope that only included the mesh case & the paper I had attached showing all the jewelry I had sent which looked like it had been obviously torn off. They insisted I did not send any jewelry to them but when they returned the mesh case the weight of the FedEx envelope was 5.6 ounces & refused to explain the weight difference. I tried to open a claim with FedEx but told since I was not the shipper (as it was prepaid by Alloy) I could not open a claim and Alloy refused to open a claim for me despite fact I had witness who helped pack & seal the envelope & despite fact they could not explain the weight difference when they returned the mesh case. Got the runaround from them & FedEx. I suspected they were working together due to the refusal of both to help me track the lost jewelry. I filed a complaint with the PA Attorney General, with the FTC and filed a police report in Berks County. I estimate value of jewelry was about 5K based on total gram weight. Someone stole close to 5K in jewelry from me & I want them held accountable. These people had NO concern at all, despite pleas my jewelry had been stolen. I kept getting generic emails from them and no attempt whatsoever to help me. I just finished reading that "heartfelt" response from Alloy. None of what they say is true. If they did open an investigation with FedEx I knew nothing about it. I have every single email from our correspondence back and forth as well as their "generic" response to the PA Attorney General regarding the theft of my jewelry. I can post every response; they were aloof, unconcerned, and totally unaffected by what I would call "desperate" pleas to look into this matter. I consistently asked them for their insurance information so I could file a claim, unresponsive. I consistently asked them for help, unresponsive. I can post every single response I had from them & it will not make them look good. No matter how they try to mitigate the seriousness of what they did to me, it happened. But, if they are serious about investigating I open to that. I have every email, the package they returned,FedEx tracking information, correspondence with FedEx. And they can explain why it weighted 2 lbs when shipped but on 5.6 when the sole item they said was in the package was returned.

Maria, we are truly sorry for how upsetting this experience has been for you. We understand how distressing it must feel to believe that items you sent were not received, and we take every situation like this very seriously. This transaction took place in November 2024, and our team worked carefully to investigate your concerns at the time. We reviewed shipping records, internal handling logs, and the unboxing video footage that documents every incoming package. That footage clearly showed that only one item, a gold mesh cigarette case, was inside the FedEx envelope when it was opened. The handwritten note you included was present, but no jewelry pouches or additional pieces were found. It is disheartening to hear that you felt we had no concern for your situation. Our team immediately reviewed your case, contacted FedEx, carefully rewatched all available video footage, and communicated quickly and empathetically throughout the process. We did everything within our power to trace the package and ensure that no detail was overlooked. Our company is built on transparency and empathy, and we are deeply sorry that this experience caused frustration and disappointment. We always encourage customers to document and photograph the packing process before sending valuables, as it provides the best protection for everyone involved. If you would like us to revisit the investigation or review the records again, we would be happy to do so. Please reach out to [email protected] or call (888) 672-1471 so we can connect directly.
