Placed an order and item was not shipped pursuant to their 2-6 days shipping policy. Numerous unanswered emails. Called customer service two times to cancel an order and they said each time it was cancelled and it was not. After I cancelled TWICE, they shipped order. Customer service would not provide a fax for their corporate office. Customer service could not provide their detailed refund policy EVEN THOUGH they charged my card prior to shipping order. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. PAY FULL PRICE!

Hi Joy, I have issued you a full refund and a return label. I apologize that this order had so many issues. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks, TextbookX

Terrible customer service! They ship you the wrong book and make you pay to return it!

Hi Jeremy, That is certainly an error, as we should always be sending prepaid return labels when we send the wrong book. I have sent you a direct message, please reply to that so I can get you a return label. Thanks, TextbookX

If you have any way to avoid workign with TexbookX, you should do so. They're shady and dishonest. I ordered a textbook for Chemistry through Textbookx after my school bookstore said they didn't have any copies left. When I ordered it, they told me it would arrive on August 28 or maybe a few days later. School started September 4. August 28 came and went, and when I inquired as to where my book was, they said it was on back order. I asked them when it would be in, and they said "soon". After several more email exchanges where I tried to pin down what "soon" meant, because school was starting and obviously if "soon" meant 3 weeks i was better off just waiting to get it from my bookstore. Finally they admitted they had no idea when they would be able to get the book in, and rather rudely said, "we can't tell you when we will get it and can't make the decision for you as to whether to cancel". I told them to cancel it. THEN i got another automated email saying that the book would be in "soon" (obvious lie), and that it would be shipped to me automatically after it came in. This was after I had already told them to cancel my order. (NOte: with shipping, this order came to over $300). THrough more email exchanges, I was able to cancel, and they were annoying to act like it was a favor they were doing me. "Luckily we were able to cancel the order" they said. When through all this they lied about when they would get it in and made it as difficult as possible to actually cancel. AVOID AVOID AVOID. UPDATE: They still not have refunded my money after the date they said they would refund it.

Hello Brian, I am sorry to hear about your experience. This is certainly not how we want to be handling issues like this, and we are working with the publishers to get more data available to students as to when their books will ship. Thanks, TextbookX UPDATE: Your refund was issued on the 10th. I have sent you a private message on here so you can reach out to me. We can call your bank together to determine why you aren't yet seeing your refund. "Settled: 2018-09-10 19:13:13"

Gave a free printed copy and separated one textbook into two. Used cheap sprial plastic. And it is non-refundable. If you want to sell it back to them, you get about 10% of what you paid for it.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! It has been almost a month since I agreed to sell my books to one of their buyers, who, just so happens to be a bookstore themselves. I agreed to their offer which I received immediately after posting the books for sale, which by the way was a huge fraction of what the books are worth. I accepted it because I preferred to get it over with and honestly, did not want to wait too long to receive the money, considering I am currently a student. I came out of pocket $15 to ship these books. I was informed that I would be receiving payment on the 22nd of the month, due to the facts that 1) They only send out payments on the 7th and 22nd of each month and 2) I provided the tracking numbers for the order and 3) I sold the books on or about the 5th of the month. That was fine, I patiently waited for the 22nd of the month. I wait until the 23rd, and thats when I gave them a call. After being placed on hold multiple times, and for the majority of the phone call, the customer service rep made it very clear that she had no idea how to do her job by frequently telling me she had to talk to or ask her higher up. Using one of the order numbers I provided her, she tried to tell me that I received payment in 2017, however all of these orders were sold in 2018, and in 2017 I only PURCHASED books off this service, not sold. So, basically, using the order number from something I sold, she mixed it up somewhere in the system and tried to convince me that a payment I MADE was a payment I RECEIVED. Then, patiently waiting for a response from the higher up, eventually I was told that I was unable to be given an answer and they would need to call me back. After some time, I received a call back from a completely different phone number, where I was then informed that this company has an agreement with the customer, where they do not have to send out the payment until THEY DECIDE TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THE CONDITION OF THE BOOKS. Mind you, they received the books on the 9th and it is now the 23rd. They have had more than enough time to COMPLETELY destroy the books that I have sent them, sell them, or do anything that they want. Plus, if they don't have to send out a payment until deciding to reply with the condition of the books, why would they ever provide that feedback? I had a funny feeling about this process at the beginning of it all, and I should have trusted it because this company is completely unprofessional. They have the opportunity to make profit off of items I own, but have agreements with the buyers that they do not inform the seller about. Like I said previously, I am a student currently and there are wayyyy too many buying/selling services for textbooks to be wasting your time dealing with this service.

Ordered textbook for my class as recommended by my school and after paying $120.40 for just renting the book, they send me an email saying my book is due back 2 weeks before my class is even over. Reached out several times stating the issue and asking for resolution, and finally received one reply 3 days before class ended saying that there was no way they could change a due date. I wake up this morning and of course, there is now another $114.40 missing from my bank account because I didn't return the book by the due date. Now I'm stuck with this piece of crap book that I don't want because the customer service at this place is ridiculously poor. I will NEVER rent or buy another book from this site and will definitely be informing my school of these numerous complaints and ask that they stop recommending this company, as well as posting on the student boards about these shady practices. Totally unsatisfied.

This company is the absolute worst! My textbook came in a reasonable time, but being the responsible student I am, I put the textbook back in the mail like they requested with the special sticker on it WAY before the due date. Then UPS returns the book four days before the due date because the package was damaged in the mail. I contacted the company because I no longer had a return label. They put me on hold for an hour and then told me they'd follow up via email because my situation was special. 24 hours go by and I never receive any type of communication back so I called them and the service kicked me off because they said they had too many people on the line. Furious as all be, I called the company once more and they finally had the audacity to answer my question but their response took me back to a blank page! What am I supposed to do with that! I wouldn't be quite as angry but this textbook costed me way more than I wish to admit! There is no way I am EVER buying or renting anything from this company again! Spread this around so no one else goes through this!!!

Hello Lydia, We're not sure what went wrong when you attempted to print your return label, or why USPS returned your original return, but I have asked Dominique to call you back to help you get the label printed. I will close your rental to ensure you are not charged a buyout fee, as we know you are actively trying to return this rental to us. Thanks, TextbookX
