Ordered my book almost a month ago and it never showed up. I ended up having to buy it from somewhere else. Terrible and unhelpful service. I hope things improve!!!

Hey Joe,
I found your order and see that the third party marketplace seller didn't respond, so we refunded you in full. Please let me know what we could have done better.
Thanks,

DO NOT RENT TEXTBOOKS FROM THIS…
TEXTBOOKX DO NOT RENT TEXTBOOKS FROM THIS COMPANY! If I could rate ZERO STARS, I would. My son rented a textbook from this company. The textbook was used and highlighted in with yellow highlighter when he received it. My son did not highlight in the book any further. When he returned the book, he was told it was damaged and would he would be charged the full price of the book - $65.00. When he asked what the damage was, he was told they don't record the damage, they only record that a book was damaged. HE RECEIVED THE BOOK IN THIS CONDITION. My son talked to 3 different people. This company rented out a damaged book. He was told his options were to keep the book and try to sell it himself or file a complaint on line. He asked for a supervisor who told him she did not have the authority to issue a refund. He asked to speak to her supervisor. He was told she was the highest supervisor on the floor. He asked for a phone number of a higher supervisor and was told the number could not be given out. My son asked for a mailing address, he was told she couldn't give that information out. DO NOT RENT TEXTBOOKS FROM THIS COMPANY.

Ordered a used lab book through this…
Ordered a used lab book through this company that I needed for a class (this was the cheapest option, and honestly writing in books does not bother me). The book arrived, was in pretty good condition for being used, however did have some writing in it. Classes start and that's when I realize there is no valid online access code, great. So I end up going online and paying triple the cost of the book to buy the online code directly from the book's site. The semester comes and goes and the textbook sits on my entryway table and was not picked up the entire semester. Everything I had needed was included in the online site I had purchased the code for. The end of the semester comes and it's time to return the book. I printed the return label and shipped the book back out with plenty of time to arrive prior to the due date. The book is received on their end and nearly 2 weeks later I get an email stating my return is not accepted due to "damage" and "missing supplements", no further details--all this in a book that had not been touched or opened since purchase.
Called customer service to be placed on hold SEVERAL times so the rep could consult with her "manager", all of which I could hear him whispering to her in the background informing her to repeat the same statement to me over and over again. I was informed the item is being sent back to me and I will be charged the buyout price due to the damage. When disputing this over the phone I was told I would get the book back, could then take pictures of the "damage" and attach them in a dispute email back to the company. I then questioned what exactly the damage was, reiterating that it was a USED book with NO code. They were unable to tell me what was being considered damaged and missing. I then questioned how I was supposed to take photos and dispute the damage if I didn't take pictures of the book of how I received it, since I've never had such horrible service through a textbook site and been given so much grief about a return. All the rep kept repeating to me was to submit photos and email a dispute after I get the book back.
I will inform everyone I know how unprofessional textbookx's customer service is and advise everyone to stay FAR AWAY from this company.

I am never using this service again.
So my college got rid of the bookstore part of our bookstore - they used the extra space to stock more overpriced spirit-wear - and is now handling all in-house orders (orders not through Amazon, Chegg, etc.) through TextbookX. I ordered my books and received them in good condition and in a timely manner. I got two copies of one book but I think I might have accidentally ordered two because the ordering screen is a bit confusing. Now, it's the end of the term, and I'm trying to return my books. I get an email that says "Click here to print out your return label". I click on it and there is a USPS return label with all the necessary information filled out... except the return address. I try to look up what the return address is on the site but can't find it. I resort to Googling it (the fact that I had to Google this company's address when it should be plainly visible on the main site is already a bad sign), which brought me here. I am both surprised and not surprised that the official service used by my college to handle textbooks has 66% of reviews at 1 star. Since I am unable to find the return address, and am thus unable to return my books, which cost around $400 in total, I guess I'll just have to buy them at an additional cost of $80. I am never using this service again.

Hi BC,
The return label is prepaid through the ups-mi service. It does not need an address, you should simply attach it to a package with the rental books inside.
If you have any trouble, please call customer service or email. TextbookX.com/help

You'll be sorry if you do business with them.
Ordered a book in Sept. No communication about it, saying that it was backordered. It finally shipped end of Nov., just before exams! After it arrived, I looked through my emails to get info. to try to return it, but didn't have any. Looked on the student account on their website, but according to it, there was no such order. So I opened the package to see if there was any info. in there, but there wasn't. Called their customer service number found on their website, but was told that since I had opened it, it couldn't be returned. Garbage! They *generously* offered to let me attempt to sell it on their marketplace. Big whoop!
If they read this, don't bother telling me to contact your customer service, because I did so twice, and it was useless. I should be given a full refund for this book that I was unable to use, plus I should be refunded the shipping I paid to get it to me.
Update: I have not received a message from textbookx; however, if it's through this website, I do not know where to find a message or how to access one.
I absolutely agree that I should receive a refund. However, if it's so obvious to you, why do the people who answer your phone not also realize it?
Update update: I finally have communicated with textbookx, and have also received a refund. It was for the book only, and not shipping. I suppose that since there was another book in the order, they felt that all the shipping cost would have gone for that book, but I disagree. However, that is just speculation by me to their reasoning. I received an email saying that there was a refund being posted, and then the refund was posted to my credit card.
This whole experience has been miserable. It shouldn't have happened. And I shouldn't have had to go to such an extreme as posting this review, in order to fix my problem. Their customer service is bad, their communication is pathetic.

Contacted my bank already ! Horrible!
Response from TextbookXOct 8, 2018
Hi Natalia,
This was absolutely a fraudulent order and fit a pattern we detected last Thursday. We have already issued you a refund. We strongly suggest you get a new card issued by your bank, as it was absolutely compromised by a third party.
Thanks,

Response from TextbookXOct 4, 2018
Hi Bruce,
UPDATE: I found the order and refunded you. Please contact your bank and have your card number changed.
It sounds like someone likely stole your credit card and used it on our site. I've sent you a private message to get more information, so we can get this refunded immediately. We take fraud very seriously, so please be in touch.
Thanks,
