RENTED a book- key work RENTED... sent it back on time, NOT a since highlight, or written word in it- got rejected for "water damage or excessive writing and highlighting"- got charged the rental fee and purchase fee- no warning- called- sent them a VIDEO and picture of the book- they agree there is no damage- they wont refund my money they say the "Publisher said it wasn't in NEW condition when returned"- um.... its a rental.... do they not expect some wear on the book? I have rented over 30 books- I work at a college and this book has less wear then any book I have EVER seen- and they still wont take the RENTAL back-

I used this site to sell textbooks but I haven't gotten paid for them yet because the website says neither books have arrived to their buyer even thought the tracking numbers on both books show that they were delivered. Since the books were delivered on the 26th and 30th of January, I was expecting payment on the 7th of February but have not received any. Sent an email to customer service asking about why the status of the books hadn't been updated to "delivered" so I can get paid but haven't gotten a response. Since I payed out of pocket to deliver those books (which cost more than the postage allowance they reimburse you with your payment), I'm staring to worry that I payed about $135 (cost of the books I sold + shipping) to give my books away for nothing. Very frustrated.

I got a package that has only an invoice and 2 airbags. THERE WAS NO TEXTBOOK WHAT SO EVER!

I was recently charged a late fee for returning my textbook late (which is not why I am complaining). As I explained to the representative that I never received any instruction on how to return my textbook, and as I told her I am a college student who was unable to access my campus mailbox over break (where they sent my return label), she provided no customer service and merely told me how irresponsible I was for not returning the book on time. I fully understand the book was returned late; however, she provided no guidance and only talked down on me the entire conversation. When I asked to speak to someone else due to her harsh tone and completely unprofessional words, she wouldn’t allow me to be transferred. I am BAFFLED at how individuals like these somehow land a job in customer service. I’ve completed one semester at business school and this woman would be the prime example of who you would not want representing your company! She was completely unwilling to help find a solution, and spoke to me as though I was not a human being. Complete abuse of power. I will NEVER buy from this company again.

I sincerely wish there are Zero stars I could give this company. I bought a book that’s supposed to be new on amazon from this scammer and the next day I happened to see another on eBay for half the price. I quickly requested a return label so I could send this one back once it arrived at my place. It arrived same day with the one I ordered on eBay and I opened the box put in a second bar code as instructed by amazon, put a front return label, tapped it and sent back. To my disbelief these scammers sent a message through amazon saying they couldn’t approve my refund that I damaged the book and opened the code. How stupid can these fools think I am to damage a $342 book I returned same day and why will I open and scratch the access online code of a book that expensive which is suppose to be new and I had to send back for a refund? I was so mad I had to call amazon hotline and file a complaint. The crazy thing is the book didn’t even come in a plastic wrap which is supposed to be for a new book and I payed $342 for this. The sellers profile also magically disappeared from my order history so I couldn’t even access it. I now see why you guys have a very poor rating on your reviews here. For anyone out there stay way from this scammers.

My school uses TextbookX as its preferred textbook provider. But the majority of my books are available on other sites for much much cheaper. If I had bought all my books on TextbookX my bill would have been almost $500, versus $280. MAKE SURE TO CHECK ALL RETAILERS, TextbookX consistently overcharges.

To sum it up I rented a book that was already in poor condition(pages were old and dirty) also I rarely even used it. When I shipped it backed it is rejected because it was "damaged" like seriously? they shipped me a poor condition rental and claimed it was damaged. They're scammers who trick you to buy an old dirty rental and then pay again for the full book. I've learned my mistake I'm getting my books elsewhere, can't believe CUNY even had this company hope it rots in hell.

I thought that I had misplaced a textbook so ordered another through TextbookX. The same day, actually less than an hour later I located the original book. I called and asked to cancel. I was told they would check but didn’t think they could cancel it. The CS agent called about a half hour later and said it couldn’t be cancelled but if I just reject the shipment and not open it the entire amount would be refunded to me. Today I got a partial refund for $8 less than the price I paid! I had to call because after 13 days I still hadn’t received an email stating they received the book back. When I called he said there was no refund issued but he would do it and it would be back to my account in 5-7 days. This is unacceptable. If I wouldn’t have called they would have kept the book and my money! I will go elsewhere for future purchases and definitely will not recommend!
