I had bought a textbook worth $100. I had opened the package and I didnt even take the textbook out of its wrapper or used the acess code. I didnt need it no more so I had it return and they said they could refund me because it was open and considered used. So I call them and they said they couldn't do nothing and I ask if I would be getting the book back and they said no because it was discarded. So basically I get no refund nor the book back.

This company is only the middle-man. They do not have books themselves, they only pass the order on to the actual book seller. This information is not readily seen on their home page. Both they and the actual seller are terrible. I would have given 0 stars if that was an option.

This is the WORST BOOKSTORE I'VE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH! I actually cancelled an order and had it refunded. It was on backorder, so I was safe as in it wasn't shipped at the time of cancellation or refund. Yet, this .... SMART bookstore still shipped me the book.. and forced me to pay to ship it back to them. Please do not do business with them.. go through another source. I know I will from now on

I had a bad experience with this company I ordered a book for the fall semester and sent it back at the end 6 weeks later (last week) I received an email stating that the textbook was not accepted and it was junk they charged my card 40.00 without my consent for the book and I shipped it out on time and in the same condition that I borrowed it in !!!! Then they proceed to tell me that they will send me the book, and I can dispute the charge of the book by sending pictures of the now “damaged” book !!! total crap and a scam 🙄 I would never buy from them again !!!

Where I live, I cannot be sure I will get my packages, so I have a post office box, which UPS will not deliver to. Very often when you buy books through this site, you are actually buying them through a third party seller. When books I ordered, never came, TextbookX never gave me the refunds I asked for. They referred me to the sellers, who gave me tracking numbers, which were useless because they showed the package being dropped off but that doesn't mean I received it and so there was absolutely nothing I could do. I spent money on textbooks I never received, then had to spend more money to buy them from another store. Now, I primarily use Amazon.com which has their own public package boxes you can have stuff delivered to, or Barnes & Noble "brick and mortar" stores where I can have my order sent to.

Terrible service all around... Books are always delayed and the customer service is sketchy.. Always look to grab you books from Amazon or Chegg.

When it comes to buying textbooks, this site is easy to use, and the fact that classes are preloaded was convenient. However, I’m a distance education student, so I am required to sell through this website now. Most of my transactions went smoothly, except for one. I was selling a marketing textbook and the buyer put in the wrong address (I have absolutely no way of knowing this). Then when USPS marked it as undeliverable, it took nearly 2 weeks to get back to me. I was still charged shipping even though THE BUYER incorrectly entered their information, and when I tried to contact anyone at customer service, I was just given the run-around. Over and over I was told “Just cancel the order and relist it.” But how is that fair to me? I had done all of the work, and even had to pay for shipping on something because of the other party. It was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience over all.
