I was first attracted to BarMax by the price. I was further attracted to it because it was new (like my non-traditional law school) and seemed very innovative. St. Francis School of Law is one of the newer California distance schools, beginning operations in 2011. I finished 4 years in December 2017 and passed the February 2018 administration of the California Bar Exam. Regardless of my motivation, BarMax helped me pass the California bar on first attempt and I am absolutely sold on this system. BarMax lectures were well-delivered and as entertaining as such material can ordinarily be. Outlines were complete and helpful. The MBE questions were extensive and well-organized. I recommend BarMax to anyone!

I graduated from law school back in 2009, but never took the bar exam because I entered academia right away. I was honestly petrified at the thought of trying to tackle the bar exam on my own, with no help and no review course, six years after graduation. I work a full-time job now and couldn’t take the time off necessary to take a full BarBri review course. I downloaded the UBE full version and used it to study for the exam on my own for several weeks. AND I PASSED!! And I didn’t just pass; I passed with plenty of room to spare! I honestly never could have been successful without the help of BarMax and its amazing app. The lectures, the multiple choice questions, the exam questions, the feedback; everything helped so much. You guys and gals are absolutely amazing. You provide a product that fills a critical gap in the bar prep world. Thank you for everything you’ve done and, in particular, for providing the support I needed to successfully pass the Minnesota state bar exam. I will never forget how important this app has been in my life, and I will speak its praises to anyone who ever has questions about bar prep.

This was my 3rd sitting for a bar exam. I’d taken the CA bar twice with the assistance of Kaplan with disappointing results. For my first sitting for the UBE I decided to shop around, literally, for a bar prep and stumbled on BarMax. The price was right giving the timing and I signed up. The outlines were concise and to the point (unlike Kaplan’s which are long winded and drawn out) and in conjunction with assistance from my professors, I was able to take and pass the UBE on my first attempt. The UBE is a different beast from the CA bar exam because of the difference in timing for essays but the prep provided by the company was phenomenal. You just have to put in the work. So a huge thank you to BarMax. I will be using them to resit for the CA bar. You do not need to spend thousands of dollars on prep to pass.

After more than 10 years out of law school California, I had a lot of doubts about my prospects for success on the Maine UBE. But BarMax was just what I needed. I listened to all the lectures twice, completed almost all the online MBE questions, and passed with 40 points to spare. Thanks, BarMax, for putting me over the top!

I just wanted to let BarMax know that I passed the July 2016 CA Bar after using BarMax as my exclusive study material. I graduated from law school in 2008, passed the bar in my law school state, spent five years living abroad, and moved back to the U.S. with a nine-month-old baby. Preparing for and taking another bar exam seemed like an insurmountable task! I wasn't able to attend any kind of "traditional" bar course because I was taking care of my baby full-time. With BarMax, I stuck to your schedule (starting two weeks ahead to give me some wiggle-room at the end) by listening to lectures when my child was taking her two one-hour naps during the day, and then working on practice essays and multiple choice when she went to bed at night. The material was really well organized and easy to fit into my schedule - and I felt prepared going into the exam. I just wanted to thank you for offering this alternative - for someone like me, without the luxury of full-time study like I did that first summer after graduating from law school - BarMax was perfect!

I passed the February 2018 CA Bar Exam on my first try! I’m 51, began my law school studies in 1996 and spent the last couple of decades raising 4 children, working as a community volunteer, political activist and am in my 6th year as a school board member for a large school district. Last year, I decided to take my first ever bar exam. I needed a bar prep tailored to my circumstance and after several months of research, I was attracted to BarMax’s immediate accessibility to all course materials, Mehran’s personal responsiveness and the relatively low cost. I felt like I was starting from scratch and needed more time to prepare, but decided to take the February CA Bar Exam. I used the hardcopy 14 subject outlines book to retype my own shorter versions as a studying process, studied from as many multiple choice questions and answers as I could (over 1400), and worked on numerous practice essays and some performance tests. I loved the audio lectures from the various law professors throughout the country! I had my favorites. The content of the outlines almost perfectly matched the MBE answer explanations, reinforcing the information. BarMax is a superior program that gave me everything I needed to pass the CA Bar Exam.

I was unable to take a prep course due to my work, so I needed something that I could do at my own pace. I scored below a 150 on my first practice LSAT in November 2015. In June 2016 I took the LSAT and scored a 170. I couldn't have done it without LSATMax.

I am currently trying to study for the LSAT while living in South Korea and studying options are extremely limited. I tried studying on my own with books and practice tests but was overwhelmed by trying to independently learn all of the information and strategies to be successful on the test. This app has made my studying 100x more productive. Plus, as an expat with limited resources, I now have someone to whom I can pose my questions when I don’t understand certain concepts or questions. Worth the buy. UPDATE- I originally wrote this review five years ago. I have since gone to law school, graduated, passed the bar, and begun working as a judicial law clerk.
