$3000 in the hole over a miscommunication.
I enrolled in ToT about five years ago and pursued other work outside of education for awhile. When I turned back to the world of teaching and got a job at a local charter network, I was told that I should transfer to another program (for reasons unknown to me.) I got a transfer request form and submitted it to ToT. That same day, I was told by the prospective ACP at an info session that I was too close to getting my certification and that I should stay enrolled in ToT. I sent ToT an email that day and also called them. When I called them, I spoke to a man named Jeremy who told me that my transfer request had been successfully cancelled. The next day, I got an email from another program advisor named Shelly-Ann saying that my transfer request had been completed, and as such, I had been removed from the ToT program. I called again and sent more emails after hearing this and was told that if I wanted to re-enroll with ToT, I would have to start the entire process of getting certified all over again. At no point in the process of doing all of this did ToT reach out and advise me the same way the representative from the prospective ACP did about my status. Now I am about $3000 out and needing to basically start from scratch with another ACP. Poor organization and no consideration to circumstance, just canned emails and stupid procedures that exist to cover this organization's backside. They've also been close to losing their accreditation many times. Find somewhere else. Only 2 stars because my field supervisor was a wonderful woman.

No certificate
This company is extremely disorganized. When i signed up, the company informed me they assist in finding jobs on the alternative certificate to work toward the requirements of the full certificate in AZ. Come to the time i meet the requirements for the alternative certificate, and they say i have to find employment fully on my own before they'll even give me the alternative certificate, while no school nor any connections ive found so far will accept the alternative certificate, much less the PROMISE of the alternative certificate. Complete and total waste of time and money
Edit: per reply. If the requirements are determined by the schools, why isn't the program tailored to the schools' requirements? If no one will hire me without the full certificate, maybe the program should help me toward a full certificate first then. In addition, they keep telling me about these 'job fairs' and hiring events but to date i have not received one email regarding any events near me and i cant find anything of use on their site near me.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Jack. We're sorry this was not the outcome you were hoping for. While we support candidates throughout the certification process, including helping them feel prepared for interviews and job fairs, employment opportunities are determined by schools and districts. We really wish you success in your teaching career!

Disabled Veteran turned down.
My husband is a veteran with a Bachelor in project management and since it’s a nationally accredited degree and not regional they said no. Yes it’s from ITT tech but I put in the work just as much as an Academic school person did. The short on teachers and someone especially a Veteran (disabled) wanting to teach and inspire and lead it’s a no.
Response from Teachers of TomorrowJun 30, 2026
We understand this was disappointing, especially given your husband's desire to serve students. Our admissions requirements are guided by state certification standards, and we wish him all the best as he pursues his goal of becoming a teacher. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

As a veteran
As a veteran, my goal was to channel my experience into the world of teaching and make a meaningful impact on today’s educational society. My journey began with reaching out to the Teacher of Tomorrow (ToT) program and requesting my transcripts. Initially, everything appeared to be moving along smoothly.
During the process, I spoke with an individual from the program who asked if I had any questions, but at that moment, I did not. Shortly after, I received an email informing me that I did not have the required fifteen core classes—subjects such as English, math, and history. This was the first indication of trouble. I called to clarify, only to find myself reviewing the same transcript that clearly showed the necessary core classes.
What struck me as particularly frustrating was the company’s approach to certification. Despite holding both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, my qualifications were questioned. When I addressed this with the staff and requested to speak with upper management, the representative insisted on arguing about the transcript. This interaction made me realize I should have checked online complaints before investing time in this process, which felt like a three-ring circus.
When I asked whether this treatment was standard for all applicants or if veterans were singled out, there was only silence in response. Based on my experience, I recommend avoiding this place.

Total scam program and there is no refund
Their program is a total scam. My assigned field supervisor from TOT only did one observation in the entire semester but on the portal it said I had five observations already. As a first year teacher, I didn’t get the promised support from them. When I tried to cancel the program with a good cause, they even required me to pay the remaining tuition. TEA should investigate them for their grimy practice.
For anyone who considers applying to TOT, I don’t recommend you to do so. TOT failed to deliver its promise, they made up fake observations. You probably gonna need a lawyer to get your money back or even cancel the program without being dragged into debt.

This program is terrible
This program is terrible. Every time I get to a point that I think I can move on and take my content exam they add 100+ hrs to my “training” that will not let me move on. I am already in the classroom and can’t get any credit for that. They are terrible at communicating. It is criminal how this program is run. I feel like I’m being held hostage. Please find a different program you will save yourself time, effort and money!
