TAXI MusicReviews of taxi.com

Beware! Taxi Music and Taxi.com is a fraud! I recently retired from my work in finance and returned to music. I thought I would be a good match with Taxi. However, I was wrong. After 4 years and 24 submission later I did not receive a single forward. Of the 24 submissions, 12 were right to be returned but the other 12 really should have been forwarded! I kept trying and sending more and more new music only to have it returned and returned. I refer to them as a fraud because I finally took the hint after 24 returned submissions and began to realize that the problem was not with the music but with me! As it turns out, I began to realize, that I was at the top of their “Do not Forward” list and any attempts I were to make would have only resulted in more returns. They are fraudulent because they claim to help and support local artists while not forwarding those individuals on their “Do not Forward” list!

paid for a pricey membership and a lot of submissions that hit the briefs but then got blocked by the screeners that really don't have a clue what they are doing. And you have to pay again for each submission. They never list the amount of money you get from a listing, and even though some music has been forwarded on, I haven't heard back from 1 person. Waste of time and money, is you ask me

So this review box says: what went wrong this time? ...well, nothing went wrong, but that's not the right question, is it? ...its TAXI's way of avoiding the real questions and putting in some lame comment...probably had AI or a bunch of lawyers word this! Secondly: how can this company improve?...again, a totally misleading comment. The membership is not offering how TAXI can improve in any way, shape or form. TAXI couldn't care less, just their way of covering their ass with legal terms. Thirdly: in every case, my submissions came back with what I feel are probably AI created wording. I have had feedback from many sources saying that some of the songs I have written are quite good and yet, in every case, TAXI is the opposite. The algorithm is plain to see. Those who say they have gained from using TAXI is so minuscule, that its the equivalent of you making any money off Spotify as an example. All in all, poor choice is on me. Also, watching the video's of so-called podcasts and discussions?...totally useless...and boring. Last time I decided to see what it was all about, there were maybe 10 people hooked in. Hooked in, being the optimum word. Just another way of bilking people and providing nothing of substance. There, I'm being honest, helpful and constructive as this review box suggested.

Taxi hits you coming and going. You pay a yearly subscription, then pay again to submit to a listing. Unfortunately, nothing ever actually gets to the company that posted the listing. Even pieces that I paid thousands to have recorded at Parsonics were rejected by the internal "A&R team", and were never actually sent to the listing companies. This service is a scam, that promises big, and delivers nothing, either to the listed companies, nor to the artist submitting music.

I submitted to Taxi Music a few times for a song pitch for various artist. A song pitch means they are only interested in the melody and the lyrics. The producer and artist are going to record the song with their image. On two songs the screener loved the melody and had no negative comment on the lyrics but returned the songs because one was mastered too hot and the other he felt the vocal wasn’t pop enough. But it was pop enough for him to love the song. On the third song pitch he did not like the drums so he returned the song and had absolutely no comment on the songwriting. It’s a song pitch you are supposed to make your decision based on the melody and lyrics and comment on those two things. The reasons for his return have nothing to do with a song pitch which is what this was. This is totally insane and unprofessional. Taxi’s comment was this is not a taxi screener he works for the record company. I am paying taxi music for the service - pitching to Taxi music and this man is representing Taxi. They should teach this screener what a song pith is or change the listing to song and master track pitch.

Taxi.com is NOT the place to market music as a rock band with an, or multiple recorded album(s) as Rock music listings are so far and few between. If there is a listing, it may likely require that your music has not been distributed already (via Distro Kid, CDBaby, etc.) They enticed my band with a money-back guarantee (that is for the annual membership, not the hundreds spent on individual listings) but after requesting the money-back, the swindlers said that they didn’t give money back to people who were previously members 🤦‍♂️ This was pretty enraging because when I was a member 8 years ago, it was for home-recorded music that was not commercially competitive, however this new project is not just me alone; it’s my band’s music, which is commercially competitive, having been recorded in a legit studio, and with membership under a different email too 🤦‍♂️ What a bunch of swindlers. To add insult to injury, they said we had not taken advantage of our membership enough to warrant a money back option, stating that we had not flown to LA to their annual conference (something that would cost thousands with airfare and lodging) I think there must be a better way.

Year after year I see them posting the same listings, with the same spelling and everything, my favorite "Top notch" Blah blah blah, I went to the convention and even with people who have a good relationship with Taxi, their conversations at some point are about defending Taxi as if it were part of a contract, and the negative always comes out, so you decide

Taxi has been around forever. I don't like the business model. 1. You have to pay $5 to submit. 2. They do not let you redo/revise a submission after feedback.
