Nonprofessional work, numbers massively off and caused me to miss the filing deadline
Absolutely horrible and 0 stars. I trusted them with my tax and now I owe IRS a ton in interest and late penalty and had to find my own CPA to file the tax again
I had K1s so I had to file an extension. The first CPA assigned massively mis-estimated the tax (I believe he simply missed a form) and I therefore owe a ton of interest and penalty due to underpayment w/ extension. A month before the Oct deadline he told me the tax is more complicated than he can handle
I specifically followed up with TaxFyle manager, and they said they would reassign someone who has handled similar tax situation before. However the second CPA gave me a nonsense draft that - I don’t know how - overstated my income by 30%. I pointed out the errors and he simply spent a minute putting the sum of the gaps I said into “misc deduction” rather than doing it properly. After I point that out he simply rage dropped my case. At the very least I found those errors out so I “just” need to deal with late filings and penalties instead of overpaying tens of thousands of tax.
Simply the worst tax filing experience I have ever had. Absolutely 0 starts and will never come back again

"Relationship Manager" - Not!
While my assigned tax professional did an ok job preparing the return, the relationship manager experience was disappointing. The RM mostly sent repetitive reminders to upload documents and push the job forward, without providing any meaningful help. They simply want to hurry jobs along to get them completed without caring about the client. When I tried to schedule a call, the appointment was cancelled, and the overall interactions felt automated—raising the question of whether a real person is even involved or if it’s largely an AI-driven system of timely nudges and generic messages. While using AI automation would be ok if it was implemented correctly to be helpful, a “relationship manager” should get to know their clients’ needs and the details of their situation in order to build a real relationship that lasts over the years - clearly that is not their intent.

It pains me to give even ONE star
It pains me to give even ONE star. We used them for outsourced Tax work and they are a complete mess. The 'pro's' are not responsive, rude and disappear for weeks without responding. Meanwhile the clients are asking us for status. We kept getting incorrect work, excuses and no improvement. They kept billing us monthly even after we canceled. That seems to be the ONLY thing that is consistent. I would not recommend them. No way. Waste of money, bad experience, never again.

Dreadful company
Dreadful company. They charged me for a meeting they never confirmed. Do your self a favor and stay well clear of them.
Response from TaxfyleOct 5, 2026
I’m sorry for the confusion here. The Pro confirmed the meeting in the chat and also followed up on the day of the meeting to reconfirm.
Our team also reached out afterward to see whether you would prefer for us to reopen the request so you can reschedule, or if you would prefer a refund. Please feel free to respond to that message and let us know which option works best for you, and we’ll be happy to get this resolved.

I ended up locked in to using Taxfyle and they majorly dropped the ball
I ended up locked in to using Taxfyle through Collective.com. The Taxfyle "pro" in charge of my return disappeared for weeks as the tax deadline was approaching. Taxfyle leadership couldn't do anything about it and couldn't even re-assign my return to a different pro. I don't know what kind of operation they're running there, but I would run from them if you have the choice!

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating and stressful it is to have your tax return delayed, especially as a filing deadline approaches.
We take situations like this seriously and regret that you felt you were left without adequate support or a timely resolution. We’re also disappointed to hear that our team was unable to reassign your return when you needed assistance.
We’d appreciate the opportunity to look into what happened and better understand where the process broke down. Please reach out to our support team with your account details so we can review your case and address your concerns directly.

I trusted them with my audience and they threatened me with lawyers
I don't usually write reviews like this, but people should know. I paid Taxfyle $14,000 in January to run my referral traffic through their funnel. I have over 1.4 million followers, so I sent them real volume, and I have the data to prove it. It converted nobody. On a call before signing, they told me to expect roughly 4%. We didn't come anywhere close. The other thing that got me was the phone calls. We had agreed they'd use a script that referenced my brand so my followers would recognize the outreach and feel comfortable. I got one of those calls myself and there was none of that. Just a random sounding cold call. That was the exact thing I warned them about before I ever signed. So I laid all this out and asked for a refund, thinking we'd work it out like adults. Instead they had their lawyers come back and threaten me. I put my reputation and over 1.4 million followers behind these people and they let all of us down. Think twice before you trust them with your audience.
UPDATE TO TAXFYLE'S RESPONSE:
Thanks for the reply. I want to respond to it directly, because each of your three points is contradicted by your own emails, which I still have.
On the 4%: you now say it referred to "cart abandonment conversion, not outbound cold calls." Here is what your sales executive, Brian Smith, wrote to me in writing on January 20, 2026, before I signed. Conversion "has been around 4% from a pure abandoned cart perspective… when pricing is introduced at the end and there's no human follow up. Because of that, this season we rolled out a dedicated call center team whose sole job is to proactively reach out to clients who stall… to significantly improve conversion." So by your own account, 4% was the floor with no calls, and the paid call team was sold to me as the thing that would beat it. I didn't come close to 4%. I got zero.
On the phone calls: you say your records "do not show any completed calls connecting with the leads in question." I received one of those calls myself on March 11, 2026 at approximately 7:00 PM from 813-214-5489, and I emailed that exact number and time to Megan on March 16. Megan's own reply on March 12 said your team "has been trained to use the agreed-upon script." So the calls were happening. The issue was never whether they connected, it was that they left my brand out completely. On January 22 I asked in writing to add "working with Gavin Larnard, or the company name TaxPros" to the opening line, and Brian replied, "We can add your name or TaxPros." The call I actually received opened "…with Taxfyle," with no mention of me or my audience. That is the exact outcome I flagged and negotiated against before signing.
On the refund and the "no legal threat": my refund request was not answered by the account team I had worked with for two months. It was answered by your legal team, going through the contract clause by clause and instructing me to direct all further communication to you in writing. You can call that whatever you like. From where I sat, asking for a refund and being handed to your legal department is exactly what it looks like.
I have every one of these emails, with dates, and I'm happy to produce them. That's why I stand by my review.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We appreciate the opportunity to provide some additional context, especially since specific details have been shared publicly.
The 4% figure discussed prior to signing referred specifically to cart abandonment conversion, not based on outbound cold calls to clients who did not sign up for tax services or ever come to our page. We understand how this distinction could have led to different expectations, and we wanted to clarify that point.
Regarding the phone outreach, our records do not show any completed calls connecting with the leads in question, so we're unable to verify the interactions described.
With respect to your refund request, you reached out to cancel the agreement and requested a refund. We explained that, under the terms of our agreement, a refund was not available and also clarified the misunderstanding regarding the conversion metrics. At no point did we threaten legal action. Our follow-up communication simply reiterated the agreement terms and explained why a refund could not be issued.
We value every partnership and always strive to be transparent and responsive. If you'd like to discuss any of these points further, we're happy to continue the conversation directly and work toward a better understanding.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience - they assign tax preparers who don't respond on time. simple messages takes weeks to respond and no clear ETA on completion. Stay away - to both save money and headache
