great platform for all your needs

As a Pinterest marketing specialist, I previously used Tailwind every day. It was good for scheduling pins and the Communities feature (previously known as Tribes) was particularly good. I actually upgraded and bought their unlimited communities in January 2021. However, during the year Pinterest was slowly emerging into a paid platform and it became more and more difficult to achieve any significant results for new organic pins. To put it into perspective, one of the accounts I manage has over a million followers yet new pins were lucky to get 1K organic impressions and 1 or 2 clicks for new standard pins (although IDEA pins had quite good organic reach). So, I realised that it is pointless to stagger pins throughout the week/month. It is easier just to upload pins all at once directly to Pinterest. Then to have any kind of impact you need to run paid ads on them. It also means that the communities feature is redundant too. Even if you get some re-shares from other community members, they wont get any organic reach even if they are big accounts with lots of followers. So, it is literally a waste of time. I stopped using Tailwind and forgot about it. I would have never thought anything more about them or felt the need to tell anyone that the service was no longer useful. But then recently I discovered a payment of £183 on my credit card statement. I contacted Tailwind straight away to tell them that the account is dormant and to ask them to refund. But they said that because it was just over 2 months and I did not complain within their specified timeframe then I was not entitled to a refund. This alone is very annoying. But the worst thing is that they didn't even email me to tell me that the account was being auto-renewed! So, how am I supposed to know about a deadline which I was never told about?! I have been back and forth with their CS and they are still refusing to refund the £183. After searching online I discovered many official consumer guidelines stating "before a company can auto-renew your subscription, it has to send you renewal notice". It's also common sense and an ethical way to treat customers. Yet Matthew from Tailwind's CS last response to me was "Our current billing provider doesn't allow for automatic email reminders at this time. I will note that we are looking into alternative options to send out renewal reminders, but we don't have this in place yet - I do apologize." Tailwind have no problem with auto-renewing accounts which are dormant. They also have no problem in doing this in secret with the hope that customers wont realise. And they see no irony in penalizing customers if they don't spot the payment before their "deadline". It wouldn't have ever occurred to me to leave a bad review for Tailwind or mention how it's no longer a relevant platform for Pinterest. I appreciate that many people still use it and like it. However since they have been so awful in this case I want Tailwind execs to see this. Hopefully they will realise what is actually going on in their CS department and rectify their errors. And if you are a user of Tailwind then my recommendation would quit the platform and just post to Pinterest directly. Then focus on paid ads and IDEA pins only. Also you do not need to post the same pin to multiple group boards anymore, post in communities or even use the smart loop. It also doesn't even matter when and how often you publish pins. All these functions are no longer helpful and some could be more of a hindrance to your organic results if anything. You will still get website traffic from any previous viral pins but you won't get any results for new (standard) pins unless you run paid ad campaigns unfortunately. *Conversion campaigns can be very cost effective and provide an excellent ROAS if you get the targeting right.

The app is slow and buggy many of the features that they promote are painful to use and takes tons of time. Sometimes all your work can disappear. But the main reason why I left them is customer service. I needed my invoices to be updated with my company info and customer service rep Nikki told me that all she can do is 3 invoices (I can choose, wow). So I would not recommend using them. I’m closing all 3 accounts that I have and going to use buffer instead of tailwind…

Tailwind has made marketing my small Etsy shop a whole lot easier. They take the work out of it and give me back time to create.

I have been using Tailwind for years and will continue to use it for years. It makes posting to IG so much easier! I can visually plan my posts and then set it and forget it. Using Tailwind gives me more time to devote to interacting with my followers which is so important to me.

The Tailwind website and app seemed like a great idea to schedule my Instagram posts. However, I'm largely disappointed with the service. The website & app feel outdated and sort of spammy. The website/app couldn't automatically post my content that had two pictures or more. Instead, you have to set a reminder and post the content yourself. That defeats the purpose of the service. At first, I was okay with using this service even though I had to post the content myself. I could write up my post before I wanted to post it and essentially save time. However, it was a hassle to post it myself from Tailwind. When trying to post the content, Tailwind would only transfer my pictures to the Instagram app. Tailwind wouldn't transfer my caption or hashtags. I will never use Tailwind again and recommend for others to steer clear. There are other apps & websites that you can use!
