I'm a former employee
I'm a former employee. I just quit my job this week over the working conditions and low pay at the Petro Stopping Center in Weatherford Texas. Trying to support two people on $17.50 an hour is impossible in this area, especially since the total paycheck for 2 weeks was around $1,000 net. Rent around here goes for $1, 250 a month, the so-called commission that they offered their service advisors was negligible at best. My assistant manager reported living off credit cards, and the shop went through three managers in less than 6 months. There are numerous safety issues. From improper fall protection equipment, to tires that were put on racks that were way too high for the technicians and service advisors to access without a forklift or a crane system. In addition to low pay and safety issues, I got in trouble for actually doing the duties that were required of the service advisor when management wouldn't step up. The specifically applied to things like tornado warnings and announcements over the PA system. They have it written in the tsa's job description that they're required to make announcements for these kinds of events if the managers don't do it at the main site. Yet the main store manager says we were not allowed to do it, even when that main manager is not on duty. I cannot recommend anyone go work for TA or Petro in the DFW area. And I do realize some of their competition is just as bad and just as low paying.
