I purchased an engine from these crooks. It took almost a month to receive it, not the 7 to 14 business days they promised. When we did receive it, it was obvious it had sat somewhere (out in the weather) for a long time. My mechanic started out to install the engine, but also had surgery during the installation. As a result, he wasn't able to install the engine before the 10 "required" days. Therefore, these theives wont return phone call(s), because it we didn't meet the deadline for the installation and warranty. Put enough hoops out there (as they do) you don't cover a defective engine. Anyway, the engine they sent has "TWO" rods knocking. So much for their quality control and I'm out $1400 + $2000 to have it installed. Disappoint

Horrible service! It states they accept reasonable offers but wouldn't budge a cent! Spoke to a manager and was so rude and disrespectful, without reciting the whole thing he was yelling at me and saying I didn't like the answers I was given when I was just asking for a little more information stil telling him I was prepared to purchase but eventually hung up... Then they proceeded to email me and call me a "looser" multiple times! LOL!! Couldn't even insault me properly spell loser correctly

I bought an engine for Nissan Frontier in May 2016. My shop installed engine using SWengines "Required Installation Procedures." That engine was defective, burning 1-2 quarts oil per 1000 miles. I requested new engine. SWengines said it was orignally not coverd by warranty (in one part of warranty is said excessive oil consumption was covered; in the "finer print" it said that issus was not covered.) They required me to obtain $558 of diagnosis from my shop -- they even requested/required a "differential compression test" from the mechanic in a 3-way telephone call. Finally, after many phone calls and emails and about three months, they agreed to replace the defective engine. But SWengines reimbursed only $660 of $2272 (including the $558 diagnosis they required) that it cost me to follow their required installation procedures, and will not warrant the replacement (2nd) engine. It took about 2.5 months to provide the 2nd (replacement) engine, and they never provided details about the mileage or other factors about that engine (luckily it is working well). I would not do business with this company again. I am considering suing for the $1612 I'm out of pocket on the 2nd engine replacement cost. Ken

From the sound of all these bad reviews, by the way of which I didn't see until after the purchase, is it possible to have a good experience with this company? I waited 3 weeks to receive my engine, Dodge 1500, 5.9 liter for the cost of $1,100. I'm going to catalog every move as I go through this experience and share it with the public in hopes that possibly this will be a positive experience. Being that it's Friday after 5, I will wait till Monday to touch it and I will activate warranty first before I even breathe on it. Wish me well and "God help us!" Bought engine with A CLAIMED 78000 miles on it with a 3 year 36k mile warranty. Four months and 6000 miles later engine has no oil pressure and no good. SW ENGINES say they will not honor warranty. We are out the cost of the engine and installation cost. DO NOT BUY FROM SW ENGINES. They also operate under other business names such as Got Engines. etc. STAY AWAY!!

Had very bad experience. I got an engine from them and installed it only to find it had a blown head gasket. Since I didn't drive the car with a blown head gasket 501 miles and melt the engine down they won't pay to install the replacement engine which took several weeks to get. The first engine was all clean and painted but the second engine was filthy and oily. Very unhappy with the whole experience. They say they check engines before they ship them out but it is apparent they don't plus they are not willing to follow their warrranty. been in the automotive business for over 40 years and have never heard of company wanting to ruin the engine they sent just to prove a point.

Bought an engine for $2400. When received my mechanic informed me that the dipstick had been sealed around the oil pan and it would require it to be removed which required removing timing cover, valve covers, etc...I contacted SWE and they said to go ahead and have it taken out and let them know. Ran $442 and SWE claims its not their fault, even though they took the oil pan off for inspection and are clearly the ones who sealed the dipstick outside the oil pan. Their service sets a new all time low. Alex Black is a totally A-hole, rude and attacks you when you question their miserable business. He acknowledged they have a horrible reputation and that they dont care. I assume he is probably the owner as everyone there shares his horrible attitude. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE MISERABLE EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS. Total CROOKS!!!! GO out of business very very soon
