I tried ordering a Staub pot on the website 3 different times, but each time the order got canceled because of the "fraud management team." The order was about $150. I have never encountered such an annoying, automatic cancellation of an order, especially one that is fairly low in monetary value. The only cause I could think of was it was a gift, so the delivery address and the billing address didn't match.

Wedding Registry Nightmare
My fiance and I stopped at the Woodmere, OH store on Saturday, October 17th to set up our wedding registry and start picking out gifts. Set it up in store with manager Mark, who said that the registry setup protocol had changed recently per SLT store operations. He said we needed to scan a QR code and enter our credit card info in order to activate the registry to scan items in the store . We used my fiances phone and my card, which immediately got a fraudulent charge. I called my bank and had to cancel my debit card, and my fiances phone was compromised and had to be wiped. Manager Mark got on the phone with SLT IT to find out how this happened, and the consensus was that the SLT QR code was compromised with malware. 35 minutes later, we walked out, with an I'm So Sorry and me in tears. Filed a police report with city of Woodmere and called SLT customer service yesterday morning. They will ' check into it'. This has been a nightmare. I also called the SLT store at Crocker and they said they are not aware that you need to enter CC info to register. We don't want this to happen to anyone else. We feel that this particular store manager and possibly the store is running some sort of scam. I had called the store back to make sure this manager is actually an employee. It has been 72 hours and we have heard nothing from anyone at SLT. Not a thing except ' thank you for your patience'
Update 10/20/2026:
Sur LaTable customer service finally reached out. In an email, they told us that we were never asked for our credit card information by the manager, as it is not their policy for registry creation. We were asked for it. They also said that they tested their QR code in a sandbox environment and found nothing wrong with it. My fiance, who is in tech support, said that does not mean that it was tested on a network connected to the Internet or store network. Lastly, they said that my fiance's phone was the compromised device. His phone was not compromised until he accessed the link they gave us.
At the bottom of the email, Freddy, the customer service manager, asked me to reach out. He also left a voicemail. I called the number back after hearing the message. I told him that I was confused and upset because I was not sure how they came to those conclusions due to the fact that their manager did tell us our credit card was needed to work the registry. I then asked to speak with Freddy, as he was the individual who emailed and left the vm. I was told no.one in their department has that name. I then said I was not interested in continuing the call. A couple minutes later, I got a phone call back and the same individual I was on the phone with said he was Freddy. I felt uncomfortable and hung up the call.
Today I called the Woodmere Police, who we filed the report with and spoke to the officer who took the report. I relayed the email and conversation to him. He said that this sounds like a scam that is being run by that specific store and manager and suggested to keep detailed records of every interaction for if we decide to pursue legal action. This has been frustrating and just a nightmare. No one from Sur La Table management has reached out and talked with us. We just want them to admit that protocol was broken and want an apology.

Beware
I ordered a knife online during a sale they were having. Price was $270 and the sale price was $169. Knife showed up with price tag of $104. They refunded the difference and blamed it on the store it shipped from saying they should have removed the sticker. You are not getting a discount when you buy onlone. Beware. I have more confidence in Amazon.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration and confusion this experience caused.
While we are glad our team was able to refund the difference, we completely understand why seeing that price tag was disappointing and eroded your trust in our online pricing.
We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to earn back your confidence in the future.

Fraudulant scam company
Fraudulant scam company, claim they're not responsible for the product even though it's under their name, try to push you to a different company Synergy. Trash products, trash customer support, should be shut down for defrauding customers.

Deceptive checkout trap! Shared my card with SmartyPlus
Be careful! Sur La Table is using deceptive "dark patterns" during the checkout process to pass customer data to third-party subscriptions.
Right after I completed my purchase, a pop-up window appeared offering a rebate. Clicking it automatically transferred my credit card info and email to a company called SmartyPlus without my explicit consent. I was immediately hit with an unauthorized $25 recurring charge.
This is a complete violation of consumer trust. Do not click any pop-ups or "rewards" on this site after you buy anything. I have already filed official complaints with the FTC and the BBB. Total scam tactic!

I signed up for the $15 first purchase…
I signed up for the $15 first purchase discount which I never got. Apparently you have to read the details which tell you most of their brands are excluded from this offer. Customer service said sorry for the inconvenience, but they don't otherwise care. False advertising is false advertising. Frustrating. Was about to spend quite a bit of money I can easily spend elsewhere.
Response from Sur La TableAug 12, 2026
Hello Karin,
We’re sorry for the frustration you experienced with the $15 first purchase discount. We understand how disappointing it is to expect a promotion and then find that the item you intended to purchase may not qualify.
We’d be happy to review your order to see if the discount can potentially be applied. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope we can find a resolution for you.

Bought expensive pans and for the 2nd…
Bought expensive pans and for the 2nd time, they will not stand behind their product. This is why people shop at Amazon. Snarky associates can have fun playing video games when they're out of jobs and replaced by smarter (not a stretch) AI

I have been trying to unsubscribe
I have been trying to unsubscribe from their mailing list without success. First message was on 6\11\26.Emailed customer service and they blew me off - said it could take up to 2 weeks. Well, I still get up to 3 emails a day. Pretty sure I will never shop there again.
