This is honestly ridiculous
This is honestly ridiculous. Surest seriously needs to update and improve its app. I spent over two hours trying to schedule a basic PCP appointment, and I still was not able to schedule one. When I searched for a PCP in the Surest app, it provided me with a list of doctors, including their names and phone numbers. I called more than 10 doctors from the list. Half of them told me that they do not accept UnitedHealthcare/Surest insurance. Then why are they listed as available PCPs in the Surest app in the first place? Others told me they are completely booked until March of next year. Some offices said the only option they currently have is a nurse practitioner, with appointments available in December. So what exactly is the expectation here? Am I supposed to wait until December just to see a nurse practitioner for a basic primary care appointment? And if all the doctors are booked for months, does that mean I need to schedule a PCP appointment six months or a year in advance every time? If I have a health concern that needs to be addressed now, what am I supposed to do? The provider directory needs to be accurate and up to date. Doctors who don’t accept the insurance should not appear as available providers, and there should be a clear indication of actual appointment availability. Finding a PCP should not take two hours of calling random offices from an insurance app and still end with no appointment. Please fix the provider directory and make the app actually useful for finding in-network providers who are accepting new patients.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We recognize how frustrating it can be to spend significant time contacting providers and still be unable to schedule an appointment. We strive to make it easier for members to find in-network care and understand their options, and we are sorry this experience did not meet your expectations. We would appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your experience and review the concerns you mentioned. We encourage you to reach out to Member Services so our team can investigate further.
