My name is Dale Epley. I am 72 years old. (Nov., 2019) In Dec. of last year, I decided to go with Humana and the representative filled out the form for me. He also suggested a 'wrap around' hospitalization that cost $146 per month. He again filled out those papers. (My mistake was not checking and making sure he checked the boxes correctly.) During that year, I had numerous health issues that was more costly than normal. Sure Bridge, underwritten by Chesapeake Life Ins. Company sent me a letter from their 'Special Investigations Unit' this week saying they were dropping me from this wrap-around insurance because I had checked two boxes that they found to be untrue. One was for medication (only ones listed that affected me was for allergy and acid reflux) and the other was that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (which was an obvious mistake because I do and discussed it extensively with the representative). Again, I should have checked everything he did before signing. Anyway, because of these two mistakes, they dropped me instead of helping me pay for the bills from the hospital that have accumulated. They gave me a choice of arbitration (the rep said it wouldn't do me any good to do that because they would drag it out and I would lose anyway) or getting the $1600 back that I had already paid through the year. I chose the $1600, at least that will help me with the bills some. My warning to you, if you are elderly you need to double check everything or at least have someone you trust go over to check. It can be very costly.

They have a clause in there contract, for pre existing condition, ask for the last 10 years worth of Dr's, searching for pre ex condition so they can deny every claim, worthless insurance. Sorry Sure Bridge, but you Suck!!

My agent from surebridge I assumed was wanting to actually help me attain affordable health insurance.. as I am a college student attempting to buy my own insurance for the first time. My yearly income is 12-15,000. He got me set up with blue cross blue shield (which I didn't know my premium was 0$ for) and apparently set me up with some supplemental insurance crap that I don't need which pays me a fixed amount of money each day I am hospitalized.. (I've never been hospitalized and am a healthy 23 year old with no past medical history.) I paid 133$ a month for this Surebridge supplemental insurance. It was under my knowledge that the 133$ was for the blue cross blue shield premium. He never once told me that I could just get the blue cross blue shield insurance for 0$ without the supplemental. Even when I asked if this was the cheapest plan available. I found all this out when my dad told me he got free health insurance through the marketplace and I figured out how to log into my healthcare.gov account. I was shocked to see I could have been getting free health insurance this entire time... I expressed my dissatisfaction with him after finding this out and he replied stating that I'm the one that signed the document myself and that he's passionate about this kind of supplemental insurance bc his family uses it.... In my head I'm thinking really?? I'm a completely healthy young adult with no significant hospitalizations or diagnoses and you mean to tell me that you think you were helping me by charging me $133 a month?? I'm also a broke college student which he knew. I feel scammed and stupid for trusting this dude. Maybe he didn't necessarily "lie" to me, but he definitely used selective wording and explanations to keep me in the dark about my 0$ blue cross blue shield premium. I'm just glad I caught this when I did and that I didn't pay anymore than I have!!!

Don't get the supplemental insurance. You think you're safe and you're not. My agent sold me the cancer policy "just in case, you won't have to worry about anything while you are in chemo" Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies. Eight months later and still nothing. No phone calls, nothing. I'm a piece of paper to them. I trusted this company and believed I would be okay. Nope. The agent that sold me the policy? No help at all. I purchased a policy to supplement my income in case I got cancer. I got cancer and this company didn't care who I was, what I had and what I was losing. They are fantastic at the beginning and I told everyone I knew how wonderful this company is. Until you make a claim. Beware. Shop someplace else. This company does not care about you.

Everything was great except the auto signing. I couldn't do it on my phone. My rep is great, Sharon Care.
