I am writing this review to warn others about our experience with Sundial Locksmith on July 5, 2026. My 20-year-old daughter accidentally locked her keys in her car. She searched online for a locksmith and found Sundial. When she called, she was quoted $140 for the service. Sundial sent a technician who identified himself as Andrew. After Andrew unlocked her vehicle, he pulled out his payment machine. Instead of the $140 she had been quoted, the amount showing was $499.38. My daughter immediately questioned the charge. Andrew told her that this was the cost for coming out and completing the service. Being only 20 years old, alone in the situation, and with the work already completed, she felt she had no choice but to pay the $499.38. When my husband and I learned what had happened, we immediately called Andrew at the same phone number he had used to contact our daughter when he arrived. We specifically asked him whether he had just unlocked our daughter's car, and he said yes. We then questioned why she had been quoted $140 but charged $499.38. He told us that he would have his supervisor call us. Approximately two minutes later, a man identifying himself as a supervisor called. What happened next was even more concerning than the original charge. The supervisor told us that Sundial had never completed a job for our daughter. We explained that this made absolutely no sense because we had just spoken directly to Andrew, and Andrew confirmed that he had unlocked her vehicle. The supervisor then claimed that they did not even have an employee named Andrew. We were completely confused. We continued trying to explain what had happened, but the supervisor denied that the company had performed the service and eventually hung up on us. We then called the main phone number listed on Sundial's website. This time, we reached a different employee. We provided our daughter's information, and this employee looked it up in their computer system, found the invoice number, and was able to identify the vehicle involved. He told us he would forward our concerns to a supervisor. A few minutes later, the same supervisor who had previously denied everything called us back. This time, he told us to stop calling and again insisted that they had not performed a lockout service for our daughter. I asked him a very simple question: If Sundial did not perform the service, how did another Sundial employee just locate the invoice and our daughter's vehicle information in the company's computer system? He hung up on me. Our concern is not simply that our daughter was quoted $140 and ultimately charged $499.38. What makes this experience especially disturbing is what happened when we tried to question the charge: the technician acknowledged performing the service, a supervisor denied the service ever occurred and denied having a technician by that name, and then another employee was able to locate the transaction and vehicle information in their system. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company. Ask for the complete price in writing before allowing anyone to begin work, take screenshots of any advertised or quoted prices, get the technician's name, and keep every invoice and receipt. We have documentation of the $499.38 charge, and we will not forget how this situation was handled. A young woman called for help after locking her keys in her car. She should have been able to rely on the price she was quoted and expect straightforward answers when her family questioned a charge that was more than three times that amount. Our experience with Sundial left us feeling that we could not trust either the pricing or the explanations we were given afterward.
Response from Sundial LocksmithAug 26, 2026
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. First and foremost, we are truly sorry this happened to your daughter. After reviewing the invoice you attached, we are confident that this service was not performed by Sundial Locksmith. None of our invoices look like this, and we do not use Jobbox as our invoicing system. All of our invoices clearly display the Sundial Locksmith name and logo. The document you posted does not. Unfortunately, it appears someone may have been impersonating our company, which is something we take extremely seriously. We have already contacted the owners of Jobbox and are actively investigating this matter. We intend to pursue legal action against whoever is using our company name to deceive customers. Your help could be invaluable. If you would be willing, please email us at [email protected] with everything you have related to this incident, including the phone number that contacted your daughter, any screenshots, text messages, the full invoice, payment receipt, the make and model of the vehicle the technician drove, a description of the technician, or any other details you can remember. Every piece of information may help us identify the individual responsible and prevent this from happening to someone else. Thank you, and we hope to hear from you soon.
