Sun CommunitiesReviews of suncommunities.com

Fenton Mich resident Absolutely terrible community business EVER. The lot rent is so high, the management is terrible, maintenance is a joke nothing gets fixed they just drive around the park giving out non sense violations, homes are made cheap, they don’t care about anybody , they don’t want you to make it a home & feel comfortable for your kids, they make you pay for water when it’s in a well and that’s high as can be, they take NO RESPONSIBILITY for anything they just want your money and that it.

The lot rent is a rip of 600 + a month and you get nothing for it one pool and a club house. The revenue they bring in every month is around 2 million do nothing for the residents or the park

This is the worse park I’ve ever lived. These people can’t seem to get it right. Since day one when I moved in it’s been nothing but a problem. The toilet is always backing up, the water is shut off at least once a day, the maintenance technician always has a beer in his hand. They can’t seem to keep management. Every time they hire someone they seem to quit. As a resident of shell creek Rv park I have to say this place really sucks. Oh did I not mention? The mail situation sucks. Sometimes we get our mail and sometimes we don’t. Rv’ers and renters or buyers be ware. I am so ready to get the hell out of this place

I moved into this park in 1999 (Riverside Drive Mobile Home Park Augusta Maine) as a young adult (21) and moved out of this place August 1, 2022. In those 23 years have seen many different owners and Sun Communities is the absolute worse. Jacked up rent with no return investment. Now granted they finally after 2-3 years did repave the roads but refused to do tenants driveways. I had begged for years as mine was coming apart in pieces and I was told by the park Manager Betty that it wasn't bad enough. They did a crap job with plowing causing significant road hazards. Their communication sucks at best. They refuse to call you back when you leave messages, yet they will call you when they need something. Most recent and irritating is when I moved out August 1, 2022, they send me a bill for the month of August PLUS they billed me for demolishing sheds & a porch that was part of the purchase of my home. They demolished this literally days (3) after I notified the park (Betty Maylin) and I got billed for it. This company is crooked as hell and prime example of a "slumlord". Do yourself a favor and stay away.

We moved into this park five years ago , we were never told that there were three individual park . Now we’re told your Maintenance fee goes by how many people are in your park. I thought I was moving into one park I don’t see any separations saying this is part one or part two will park three. They give you a Incentive the first two years on a new home they give you a break . After the first 2 years our rent has gone up $25 , $30 and now $44 the rent is up to $791 a month only here five years Next year what is my increase $50. The place has issues the Jacuzzi is always breaking since we are here hardly ever works, the lawnscaper service is terrible done right they have terrible cheap Landscaping , a lot of people get fed up and hire someone to do their lawn. My grass is a foot high and we had a storm.they always have excuses . That of course did not help with the flooding with the past storm . Also they told us this was a 55 and older community, wrong was never told that Sun Homes purchased this property 5 or 6 yrs ago and grandfather in all residents living here , so there are young family’s here we should have been told that . Those homes have lower Maintenance fees. And I was told that depending on which park you’re in and how many houses are in that talk your rent on maintenance will be lower. When I came here I thought it was one big park I don’t see any separations telling me what Park I’m in , recommend anyone thinking of going into any homes that belong to SunCommunities say your prayers .

I visited one of your parks for a tour today, I had an appointment at 1:00, but was running late, I called the office and left a message. I got at the property about 1:40. The attendant was first rude to me husband, telling him we were late, and that she had tired to call us, either she had the wrong number or was not honest. I have phone records showing she didn't have any contact with us. She was rude and unprofessional. Repeating herself that I was late and she had another appointment at 2:30. We were ready to make a cash offer on a property that we had researched. I offered to come back but she wasn't having that offer either. We walked away from her instead of having a further disagreement. Her approach was poor and distasteful. Re: Saddle Oaks

Been in the Bradenton Arbor Terrece Location for 1 year never had an issue till this past nonetheless . Front office states I didn’t pay my rent for Aug which I did by money order .. only proof I have is my bank statement since I life the receipt on the money order . Front office stated Cameras don’t work but eh door that the rent is being drop off at . Won’t give me reception # to pay online either since I have to go thru they’re lawyer but she is taking to long to respond… would really want to know what happen to the money order this is not the first time it’s has been an issue with the money orders going missing .

I have been at a Sun community's "resort" for 4 years now, never was late paying rent, always kept my place clean, went along with the all the crazy management rules (they changed daily) all the have the manager's wife stumble to my lot and tell me the I cant smoke on my lot in the state of Florida because its against the law. (No its not) and that if anyone wants to bring their dog to poop on my paid property that it is allowed. And also that my dog poops on her property and she is fine picking it up. Now here is where it get good....I DONT OWN A DOG!!! I probably should also mention she was sooooo drunk. I called corporate and told them about it on Monday and it is now Wednesday and I just received an eviction. So my personal advice to anyone is not move to a Sun RV property.
