Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify several points about Sugo Music Group’s current distribution, UGC, and music publishing terms. Music Distribution and UGC: Rights holders retain 100% ownership of their master recordings. Under Sugo’s current standard Music Distribution Agreement, rights holders receive 80% of the revenue received by Sugo from the distribution, licensing, and monetization of their recordings, including applicable UGC and social-media uses administered under the agreement. Sugo retains 20%. There are no upfront setup fees, annual subscription fees, or submission fees. Music Publishing: Publishing royalties and distribution royalties are separate and should not be confused. Under Sugo’s current Music Publishing Agreement, songwriters retain ownership of their musical compositions and receive 100% of their Writer’s Share. Sugo administers the publishing rights covered by the agreement and receives the Publisher’s Share. The Writer’s Share and Publisher’s Share are separate components of publishing income, so describing this simply as Sugo “taking 50%” does not accurately explain how the agreement is structured. Promotion and Distribution: Music distribution and music promotion are also separate services. Distribution makes recordings available through digital music services and other authorized platforms, while artist marketing, promotion, and audience development are separate activities. Sugo Music Group publishes its current Distribution and Publishing Agreements on our website so artists, songwriters, labels, and rights holders can review the applicable ownership, revenue-share, publishing, licensing, and other terms before entering into an agreement.
