Manufacturing defect in seal stiffener.
The ordering and shipping went fine. I noticed on one of my new seals a manufacturing defect: there is a solid polymer stiffener which is completely enclosed with the soft seal, inside of the seal, all the way around. It was severed on one side, and had a 2-3 CM gap in it, although the seal outer housing was not touched. It somehow was made incorrectly, as my other seal, and both seals I removed did not have a separation in the polymer stiffener. I installed it anyway, in hopes it will work, but if not, I will return it. I also noticed that the dimension of the actual square seal was a bit irregular, and seemingly a bit large, thus leading to wrinkling of some of the edge seal vanes. One cause may have been the shoddy shipping…..they were tightly packed in a small cardboard container, causing stress stress on the plastic. I played with the seals, and you can easily fold them in thirds without causing any stress, like you fold a bandsaw blade. For $500 you should pack them more carefully.
