Beware when buying from this company
I bought 2 tubes of an under eye skin tightening cream having been duped by an instagram advertisement. I should have known better, I do know better, I won’t do it again. Anyway the cream is awful it caused flaking, the skin looks more creased and make up can’t cover it. I contacted Studio Dermal via email to request a refund under their 30 day money back guarantee as the product is faulty. They said they would only refund unopened product and that I was responsible for the cost of the return postage, quoting around £16. They did not provide a returns address but asked I contact them again if I wanted to proceed. I wrote again explaining how outrageous this was. They in turn restated their previous email and the email exchange carried on until they realised I was not going away so they would deploy plan B which is to say they are escalating it and will get back to me. Basically ignore the customer until they give up. What followed was a period of 3 weeks of no communication despite me politely requesting a response. I eventually looked up the reviews on Trust Pilot and realised I’d fallen for the scam but I wasn’t giving up. I read 2 reviews telling people to refer to the Sale of Goods Act and threaten the Ombudsman. Miraculously I received a response the next day offering a full refund, which is now in my account. Lesson most definitely learned but my message is more, don’t give up trying to get your money back, that’s how they win, they know it’s a substandard product but it doesn’t matter if enough of us fall for it and just walk away. Fight for your money back yes it’s hassle and life’s too short but it’s so worth it.
