no issue with my science class coursework, but the lab has been an absolute nightmare!! some combination of excuses related to ‘platform changes’ and problems with the TurnItIn contract have led to my work not being graded for going on FIVE MONTHS, while StraighterLine continues to collect my monthly fees; SHAME ON YOU!!! this was supposed to be a time and cost efficient option - now it has taken longer and cost more than a traditional college course

Billing Issues. I reached out over billing issues after trying to request reimbursement for the 99$ I was charged even after receiving my transcipts and cancelling my membership in advance. No one has gotten in contact with me. That's what makes this beyond frustrating.

The textbook is horribly over-detailed. The lectures should be the basis for what we are tested on. The study guides should give a more definite idea of what needs to be tested. If I had actually read the textbook in order to study, it would have taken me a whole year to complete the course successfully.

Staff gave me a hard time over my anatomy course and would not give me my transcripts because of an assignment they couldn't open. I would've passed with a 0 but staff refused. I would always be talking to someone different about the situation as well.

It is a money grab and a scam.

Their courses are actually proctored, their purchase funnel of course doesn't communicate this. Additionally, they'll refuse to refund you for your membership cost when you find out how subpar their services are.

Really wanted to like SL, but the worst experience I have ever had in education. The course offered little to no ability to be successful, by that I mean the course modules did not remotely cover the information required for each assignment. The grading was inconsistent, communication nonexistent, and the worst customer service team I have ever had the unpleasure to speak with. I really enjoyed other online course platforms like Sophia and Study.com, but for me Straighterline is nowhere near the quality as the former two. My suggestion is to save your money, time and effort and "pass" on Straighterline.
