I purchased my scooter two months ago after previously purchasing the identical scooter a month prior to that.
The 2nd scooter was a newer version of the previous, but would jerk/pull to one side.
Customer service is difficult to reach, but after a while they sent me a new piece to replace and asked if I would do their work for them.
After replacing the part the same problem persists, and they have essentially ghosted me about making a return.
By now I have a $600 scooter that no one will ride because INMOTION won’t honor their end of the deal (which is providing a functional/safe product).
I plan on purchasing more scooters, just not from INMOTION.

Formal Complaint Regarding Serious Violations of EU Consumer Protection Laws by Inmotion
I am formally reporting gross violations of European Union consumer protection laws by the electric unicycle manufacturer Inmotion. Inmotion routinely dismisses statutory EU consumer rights by citing arbitrary internal policies, operating under the absurd assumption that company guidelines take precedence over binding EU legislation.
Background and Product Failure
I am the owner of an Inmotion V13 Challenger. After only 8,000 km of use, the unicycle suffered catastrophic electronic failure immediately following light rain. The V13 Challenger is heavily marketed by Inmotion as having superior ingress protection, promoted as one of the most water-resistant high-performance electric unicycles on the market.
Following light exposure to rain:
The unit refused to turn on, displaying a persistent warning indicating that the power button was permanently depressed.
Inmotion support advised me to purchase and replace the power button controller board at my own expense. I followed their instructions; the issue persisted.
Support then instructed me to purchase an even more expensive component: the upper motherboard (costing approximately $150 including shipping).
After installing this new motherboard strictly according to their guidelines, the wheel died completely, showing zero signs of life.
Upon connecting to the Inmotion app, the firmware version of this brand-new replacement motherboard displays as 0.0.0, demonstrating that the part was either dead on arrival (defective) or shipped without factory firmware.
Violation of EU Law and Unacceptable Customer Service
Under EU consumer protection law (Directive (EU) 2019/771), sellers are legally obligated to guarantee conformity. If a purchased electronic component is defective or fails to serve its intended purpose, the consumer is entitled to a full refund—including shipping charges—or a compliant replacement free of charge.
When I demanded my statutory rights from the seller/Inmotion, they outright refused to comply, resorting to internal company loopholes. Over correspondence, Inmotion support:
Shifted to an unprofessional, dismissive, and rude tone.
Attempted to evade liability using baseless conjectures and unverified technical theories.
Flatly refused to issue a refund for demonstrably non-functional hardware.
Due to their continuous bad-faith communication and refusal to resolve the matter, I have officially filed a case with the local European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net), and formal proceedings are currently underway.
Critical Safety Concerns
Inmotion manufactures machines capable of speeds exceeding 90–100 km/h. Delivering substandard, moisture-vulnerable electronics—and shipping non-functioning replacement motherboards to consumers—creates a direct, unacceptable hazard to human life and health. A manufacturer that attempts to override European safety and consumer directives with internal policies cannot be trusted.

Stay away from Inmotion!
If I could do 0 stars I would.
I have been dealing with customer service for almost 12 weeks now trying to get them to refund their product, a V12S that broke on me twice. I had been riding the wheel for about 5 days doing normal use on it and then it developed a motor fault making it completely unusable. I got stranded away from home and had to get a ride home. After weeks trying to get the customer service to do something, they finally fixed it under warranty - instead of giving a refund like I requested. Three weeks after I received the fixed wheel, which they had broken the kickstand on by the way, the same motor fault happened again. I am not sure if they put another bad piece in or just did something to the software for a little while to keep it quiet. Now the wheel has been unusable for almost six weeks and they still won't give me a refund and have offered to give me a new, lower-tier wheel. They have not offered to give me $600 to make up the difference in price I paid. When you buy a $2000 product, I believe it should work flawlessly and be as premium as the company says, otherwise you should get your money back.
Please don't waste your time and money like I did with Inmotion.

I would not recommend INMOTION based on…
I would not recommend INMOTION based on my warranty experience.
I received my V11Y on March 23rd, reported issues on March 26th, and have only been able to ride it for about two weeks in total, mostly for repair confirmation. For over two months, I have been working with customer service to resolve a motor issue, and my wheel is still sitting disassembled in my house.
INMOTION offered to send a replacement motor under warranty, but they shipped the wrong motor—a V8S motor instead of a V11Y motor. After I notified them, they had to verify their records before authorizing the return. They then created return labels with expiration deadlines without first confirming my availability or transportation situation. I explained that I currently do not have an operational car and have practical limitations for shipping the motor, but those details have repeatedly been overlooked.
Throughout this process, I have experienced frequent delays, incomplete responses to questions, and repeated situations where information provided in my emails was not addressed. At this point, I have had to limit my emails to one question at a time in hopes of receiving a direct response.
My concern is not that mistakes happened. Mistakes happen. My concern is the lack of communication, the failure to account for customer circumstances before creating deadlines, and the amount of time it has taken to resolve what should have been a straightforward warranty claim.
As of June 21st, my V11Y remains out of service and I still do not have a resolution.

Crap Prices Payment Terms and Cancelation Fees
Prices, payment terms and cancelation options are all better elsewhere. Prices are so bad that, even after paying their absurd 4.4% cancelation fee for a purchase I had just approved, it's still cheaper for me to pay the fee and buy elsewhere
Response from INMOTIONMay 15, 2026
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding pricing, payment terms, and cancellation fees.
Please note that our cancellation and refund policy is publicly available on our website before purchase:
https://inmotionworld.com/pages/return-refund-policy
As outlined in the policy, payment processing fees charged by credit card providers or PayPal are non-refundable once a transaction is processed. For canceled orders before shipment, the applicable processing fee is currently 3.6% for credit card payments or 4.4% for PayPal payments.
We understand you found a better offer elsewhere, and we respect your purchasing decision. We continuously review our pricing, policies, and service experience to remain competitive while supporting warranty service, inventory, logistics, and after-sales support.
We appreciate your feedback and will share it internally with our management team for further review.
Best regards,
INMOTION Team
