Shipped to Amazon customers but not Kickstarter backers who funded it
I would give negative stars if I could. This company launched a Kickstarter campaign for their newest product, Hollyland MELO P1. The delivery was supposed to be early July, however it's almost the beginning of August. Plenty of backers have yet to receive the product. It's frustrating, but if it's a normal kickstart delay, the frustration wouldn't warrant a 1 star negative review on here. This is not the typical Kickstarter fundraising delay where the company needed more time to produce the product, or some other legitament reason. Heck, it's not even a scam where the product never existed. A quick search online, you can see multiple influencers having the physical products, giving reviews immediately after the Kickstarter campaign ended. This is still understandable in terms of business strategy, in terms of promotion strategy. What makes this experience infuriating is that on Amazon Canada this product already has three reviews from verified purchasers with photos of the product attached from late July. It means that this product is available and they were capable of shipping to people who purchased it through Amazon. So, why have they not fulfilled their Kickstar orders? There were two communication from them after the Kickstarter campaign has ended. None of them addressed the delay. Both of them still insisted on the narrative that the product is ready to be shipped. The campaign ended on June 2nd, we received one communication on June 3rd, and one on July 8th. During the campaign the company was responsive and as soon as the campaign ended they went cricket. The absence of communication. The failure to fulfill orders from customers who trusted and funded this product, and only to see people who bought it later on already receiving the product. All in all, it leaves the backers confused. It's such a bizarre experience. I don't know if we will ever receive the product. I guess the least I can do is share my experience so others don't fall pray to this company's disgusting business practice. The only positive thing I can say is they did refund the early bird VIP kickstarter deposit. Hollyland, you have the product available, you took the money, and you have my shipping name and address in full, why don't you just ship it to get this over with? August 16, 2026 UPDATE: Hollyland became responsive right after this review was submitted. The support I spoke to did their best to help resolving the issue. However, the company's kickstarter team remains untruthful. They claimed on Kickstarter that they have shipped the product on July 29, 2026. Yet, the support team got back to me saying the product will be shipped soon. A few days later, they sent me a tracking number that showed shipping label was created on August 3, 2026. It's August 16 today. There has been zero movement on the shipment. Very dissappointed. August 20, 2026 update: I finally received my unit yesterday. I'm adding two stars because (1) the support team was very helpful in resolving the issue for Kickstarter orders, specifically, Zora from the support team. Thank you. (2) the product seems high quality and does what it says.
