I am fairly new to using StockCharts. There is much more to learn but what I do use has been excellent.

I have been investing since 1980, first with a full-service broker in 1/16ths but now self-directed for many years. The day to day volatility can spook any investor. I find weekly charts can clarify the trend of a stock and filter out some of the noise. StockCharts on weekly and even monthly charts lets me look at the smoothed opinion of the market. It can also show unreasonable trends of hype and occasional moments of undue panic both of which can be tradeable events if done with prudence. I tend to own companies for years and storing my list makes checking on them quicker.
