I was new at writing a series script and I didn't feel things were explained well for a beginner as advertised until I spoke up about it. The 1-1 meetings were only 15 minutes, not mentioned in the beginning and just surface feedback. A lot of time was wasted in class when they let me read my entire story instead of stopping me at one episode. Good possibility it can be stolen. Long unnecessary writing during class which we never read aloud. Communication was poor throughout, and at the last day of class I was advised to make changes that would require me to start from the beginning leaving me with no one to review it. Then the nerve to ask me to sign up for another class!!! Wish I'd checked here first. Totally not enough bang for the buck.

To cancel Writer's room monthly prescription wasn't as difficult as lot of other users state, but the fact of their overblown and overstated industry connections is 100% accurate...I have gone through a large number of "execs" through their PITCH SESSIONS to the tune of hundreds of dollars and their bare bones FEEDBACK was unsatisfactory. I am also certain that when my work was requested it was only glanced at and the comments proved it so...I also had execs faint the interest in my work only to put my in position where they can upsale their development and legal services for thousands of dollars of upfront fee...They also have an OPEN WRITING ASSIGNMENT "opportunity" through which you submit the script through them but before they do they say their readers will have to read it. The problem is that process took months and even if they did I'm sure the possible opportunities with those companies were gone. Time is money for them and you gotta move fast....I got more stories but this will do. All in all UNSATISFACTORY

I have used Stage 32 a number of times and have received some good feedback from legit industry people. But, that is only 5-10% of the total experience. The vast majority of 'industry executives' who take pitches or provide 'consultations' are either very junior people with no substantive experience or between gigs or looking to make a few fast bucks. I received one piece of script coverage that mentioned a character that wasn't even in the script. Recently one 'exec' was a no-show for a pitch but then posted a pitch review. The site touts a recent 'success'. It was portrayed as a production deal when in fact it was a wannabee producer with no history optioning a spec script, probably for a dollar. This service has one value only...it can give struggling people hope. That's something but not what they promise...and, storefront fortune tellers and rip-off revs do the same thing.
