Deal Offered, No Follow Up
I called 1 hour ago and, when asking about a veteran discount, was told that they do not have any. This of course is fine, its not a requirement by any means, but when I mentioned that I would have to look elsewhere then do to the price, I was offered a 25% discount (with cancelation flexibility) to book with them as long as I became a free member. I had to talk it over with my partner, so I asked if I could call them back in an hour to secure the deal, to which I was told that I could. After shopping around, the 25% discount made this hotel the best deal, so I called back. Calling back, I got the exact opposite experience. I was told that they would have no idea who I talked to (because they don't have any notes on any calls they take) nor what discount I was offered. I explained the offer and why it came about and was turned down by both the associate and the manager who oversee their customer service team. As a massive company, they somehow have no way to track the calls or figure out who you talked to. Overall, a very poor customer experience, coming from someone who works in Customer Service! Marriott, feel free to contact me about this review.
