This doesn't exclude your pet from coverage for other health issues, including accidents, illnesses, and preventative care. A Spot representative called me days after I signed up, attempting to collect more money from me as their computer made an err by "not charging me the correct amount" based on the address I entered. I NEVER CHANGED MY ADDRESS. My address remained in Phoenix and my dog's vet remained in Tempe. That was a huge red flag. Evidently, Spot is more concerned with nickel and diming me instead of eating the cost and acknowledging their err. I terminated the policy and got a refund from them since I had not submitted any claims by that point.

One of the rating factors that determines the cost of an insurance premium is location. Rate increases account for increased pet age, advancements in vet technology and rising treatment costs, the general cost of care in your area, and several other factors. I opted for this insurance for a couple of main reason; one, it was discounted via my employer and second I wanted to take sign up as soon as possible because I have some routine visits for my pet coming up within the next 30 days. I received a call from a rep and they explained to me that routine visits are not covered and that I had to add those services at checkout....that I couldn't make that change now, had to wait for a year to make that change on my policy. If I would have know this I would have looked out for the option to add this via checkout but I wasn't aware this wasn't covered by default and the fact that I just signed up within the past week, you would think I could still modify my policy to now add those services instead of now having to wait a year to do so.

Your customer service is HORRIBLE. I sat on hold for 45mins one day and gave up. I called back the next day and selected the call back Que. I have still Not received a call back and it has been over a WEEK!!!

Company never responds to claims. I placed 2 claims for my cat's treatment. Neither one has been processed. Nobody ever answers their phone. Put on permanent hold and left my phone number for call back which never happened. Never even received the promised gift card for signing up. Will report to the State Insurance commissioner.

filed a claim and still waiting for update. Should be more efficient that this. Deciding if this insurance company is the one I want to stay with long term...Not a good start...also, takes forever to get someone on the phone. I expect better for 1,500.00/yr.

Everything was great with this company until the yearly renewal came through. 1 year old English Bulldog. Just a couple minor claims. We have the best policy spot offered. Also we are retired so these increases are not easy for us. The monthly rate went from $118.78 to a whopping $156.91. I called them and the only thing they offered was to lower my coverages. We had Nationwide with our previous Bulldog, and had very few increases, and none this high. Just be aware that this can, and most likely will happen.
